I have the long ones also - I also did Xpel Ultimate film on the side behind wheels, along he door, rocker panel etc. That helps as well.

Does anyone have any pics to post with them on. Just curious, I bought the long ones as well but haven't put them on yet.

Paint will chip not matter what you do. Better to fight your analism and hit the body with a hammer a few times, key it up, then hit it the blemished areas with some flat black spray bottle stuff to give it the Mad Max look because life is more important than sweating the finish of a Car. At the end of the day, racing or not, your gonna fight a losing battle trying to keep the Car perfect plus all the added bullsh*t expenses like xpel, rock guards, zaino, la bra, etc.

Buys $75,000 Z/28 Refuses to hassle with $44 rock guards ![]() In all honesty they really do save the black paint on my Z/28. I Regret not putting them on for the first 2,000 Miles of my cars life. There have been no NEW rock chips on the rockers or mirrors ever since I put them on. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A few chips don't stress me like most of you anal types. Why don't you add up all the silly stuff you buy to keep your Z perfect? Roundabout total you owning the Car 3-5 years average. Guards $44 Xpel $3000 Wax $2000 Zainow $3000 Bra $500 MF Towels $1000 Cover $400 Stress _____ (no number can equate to your health). Add shipping and taxes $_____ Time involved (time is money) $____ Total $ _____ At the end of the day it's a Car meant to be driven and your Z will be another dude's Z in 5-10 years. Wake up holmes. Be smart with your money. Don't get wrapped up in all the stuff that our society throws at you. Also, those rock guards stick out. Imagine the gas mileage hit? If GM engineers wanted guard then they would have added them. Last edited by Norris Camaro; 01-11-2018 at 01:42 PM. |

BEGIN RANT! Haha are you trying to be a dick @Norris Camaro? Also what color is your Z? Is it black like mine? Doubtful. I paid $47,500 for my 2014 Z CPO with 1,200miles and a 100k mile warranty almost 2 years ago. I guess you overpaid for yours! @ $49,000. “Silly” Mods spent on the car: - $400 front clear bra (so I don’t get chips while tracking the car or canyon carving with buddies). - $44 shipped for the rock guards (who the F**k cares about fuel economy while driving spiritedly). - $250 on my custom secondary cat removal (including the cost to buy a second set of manifolds so I can have my numbers matching set) I guess this makes me a typical d-bag that doesn’t have any specialty knowledge of my Camaro’s exhaust system! - $200/year on detailing supplies? I enjoy having a clean car to drive around. Yes I wash it myself because I “care” about the way it looks, in some ways this is a stress reliever taking care of my toy. No it’s not wrapped or ceramic coated or zainoed. TOTAL around $1000. I make that in a day or 2. So I really could care less! I do drive my car in the rain and In the dry, but try and stay away from snow. It’s not a garage queen by any means! I am “smart” with my money “Holmes”. I’m also not Hispanic, but thanks for showing me you are somewhat racist haha. What did I ever say or do to you that would hint that I’m not? I would love to see your house/garage and then show you mine to see if you’re still a smart ass. To the OP sorry myself and @ Norris Camaro spammed your thread with this nonsense but I don’t like being picked on for giving my opinion when it was requested. END RANT! Well usually a work week is 5 days... haha but who gives a sh*t what it adds up to. Anyways I hope you enjoy your Z/28 wether you keep it 3 years or 30 years! Keep it stock, mod it, Zaino it, clear bra it. Your toy not mine! I sure do love having my Z in the stable. I will enjoy it brother ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the pic dgreenberg, I passed on a 2015 Z/28 out of MI (that is still for sale) that had about 12K of motor work because of the tremendous amount of stone chips.
