Otherwise Walmart parking lot would be filled with unlocked cars and open trunks.

Only with a FOB that the car has been programmed to will the car respond.

Sometimes, all we want to do is open a door, throw something into the backseat or trunk, lock it up, and walk away.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, and I don't want to pick on you, but there are no answers in this thread as to how to program a FOB without a key. Although there are suggestions that it can be done.
I was referring to a working FOB without a key to only unlocking doors. NOT a unprogrammed FOB. I probably wasn't clear in what I was saying, my bad. I don't feel like you were picking on me, but hey, was looking for ideas to get that done for you and ffas23 jumped in and proved it could be done. So there are suggestions, and proven that it works.

You can program a aftermarket remote (keyfob) by taking out the key blade from a factory remote (keyfob) and inserted the blade into the aftermarket remote and then taking your other factory remote putting it in the ignition turning it clockwise until the dash light come up for about 5 seconds or more taking it out and now inserting the aftermarket remote with factory cut blade inserted in turning and the remote will show up in the DIC. It showed up as number 3. To do the 4th remote I will need to do the same with that one. All solved. At the moment I now have 4 working remotes. 2 aftermarkets that can at least get me in the car.

Now I have another question being I have the keyblanks out of both aftermarket remotes and factory remote I am guessing to bring the keyblanks and factory cut key with me to get the 2 cut from a copy of the original. Am I correct. I am guessing they cut these blanks out of the remote. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I see no need for the remote.
Yes, they use the master as a guide to cut the blank. Just like when they did the key recall, they put the cut key into a "key head" (for lack of a better term). So you should be able to get the blanks cut if you have the master key for them to use. Then turn it into a working key.

Good to know and thanks for doing that. Will share with others that ask this same question in about two weeks.

My wife's 2011 has never been back to the dealer. We never brought it in for the Key Fob Recall. I thought it was ridiculous. Neither my knee or my wife's even comes close to the Keyfob. Some of the prices I am hearing out there to just cut the blanks are rediculous. If worse comes to worse at least I have 2 extra working remotes to at least get into the car in case we lock a remote with factory key in the car. I guess I am too old school for this new tech we have today. I like when you could walk into any hardware store and get a duplicate key made for a dollar back in the day and be done with it. What these newer cars today require is a real pain in the arse wasting my time where I could be doing something else instead.

Like mowing the lawn and watching your car going down the street, ""I have one just like that."

Also, once it is programmed, the DIC will tell you how many keys/remotes are currently programmed to the car.

Mine says 5, which scares me, as I only have 3 keys (not original owner).

There is also a process that allows you to totally reset the programmed keys and start from scratch, but I am too nervous to do that. With my luck I would completely wipe out the ability to program anything.
