Cam Overlap
What is a cam overlap value to stay at or under to maintain good drivability with a cam?

10* and under is what I recommend. Also stay under 230* intake duration.

Was thinking of running the TSP 225/236 .629"/615" 113 LSA, 109 ICL seems like a good all around street cam, makes good power and only has 4.5 degrees overlap. Small cam but I just cruise on the street and this seems like it will work good.

Bo's suggestion is on the mark. All subjective to the person driving but this guidance is a very good place to start.

I can hardly wait! Waited 8.5 years to put a cam in this thing without a problem and now im 32 days away from my appointment and every day seems like an eternity now.

25* here and no issues. It's all in the tuning to make it work....

Overlap will act different depending on valve events.
If the overlap period on intake valve open isnt very large but the overlap period on the exhaust close is large it can still drive good. The more overlap you put on the intake open side it will drive rougher at slower engine speeds. |

Yes its in the intake centerline and split but thats all in general rule of thumb for the average street guy that I was talking about.
