What about the stock top end? What's safe power of you don't remove the dod?

Op the 3 keys for a reliable high hp car- enough fuel, good tune and after those 2 key things are met comes good maintenance, without any of these thing it can lead to detrimental malfunctions

I have done some research on the DOD stuff and found it to kinda be hit or miss with failures. Folks say to stay conservative untill you DOD delete. I wouldnt go past 6-8 pounds stock dod afm gear equip, in fear one may fail. We have seen several higher HP cars 700 ish with stock dod, its just a weak point vs a LS3. I still have stock dod and have been at 8 pounds for a few years. Use good oil and dont peer pressure pump gas too much it will be fine.

Mine let go at a touch above 700/700 to the wheels. That was on a bone stock L99 from top to bottom with AGP’s base kit and fuel upgrades with meth on about 12 pounds of boost. Car had about 32,000 miles on it and randomly let go on a street hit from 30mph when I got up to about 70ish mph. Put a huge hole in the side of the block when the rod let go and blew chunks of piston everywhere.

I had the ADM LSA conversion with GPI ported heads, GPI SS1 cam, AFM/DOD delete, LS7 lifters, gasket set, headers, etc..
591 RWHP 525 RWTQ no issues with this one. 6 PSI boost... breathed very well... Oil - Driven’s LS30 Ported LSA Blower, snout, 2.45 pulley, E85, 681 RWHP 636 RWTQ 10 PSI all on stock L99 block... Then went nuts with a GPI forged/stroked LSA, ported LSA blower, pulleys, E85, 13.5 PSI. Oil - Driven’s DT40 -Don

this might be the highest hp stock long block LS3 (besides the cam and valvetrain) 5th Gen in California
cam, boost, and fuel system 1000+ RWHP by Cunningham Motorsports https://youtu.be/gBP7vi9UJ54 https://youtu.be/b2FWvu_iKwo dont see any reason why it cant be done with an L99 with the same work

Amsoil signature series 5w30. Im planning a cam build that covers dod delete as well. After dod usually the stock trans is next in line for plans. A l99 is just a slightly lower compression ls3 after all the dod delete is said and done.
