p0420/p0430 codes after running LTs with no tune(I know not getting much gain and causes issues down the road)
Have roughly 2000 miles on it since reinstalling the stock manifolds and cats and codesbhavent reset. I'm assuming the rear o2s are no longer working. Ordering a cam, LTs, and going catless but need to get codes reset first To be able to pass emissions so looking for cheapest way to get the codes to clear. Would either buying the sims/resistors and such to build the sims be able to remedy this or am I just better off to buy the new rear o2s? Any help or advice is appreciated Last edited by John169; 02-27-2018 at 05:40 PM. Reason: Typo |

Will stay there for up to 100 complete cycles (cold to hot 8 hours apart) as long as their are no more pending or current codes of that type occurring again. Welcome to the EPA rules...
I have one still there — since December... passed emissions though as no pending or current showed up... -Don

Took them off in September and Dd it 10 miles to work and back everyday. At the point that I guessing I need to either replace the o2s just curious if the sims would clear it because of how much cheaper it would be

ECM determines when they clear. If you have no pending or current codes, it’s just a waiting game. There is no tool that will clear permanent codes — unless it’s a new ECM or possibly reprogramming the existing one by a Chevy dealer.
Believe me, my new LSA forged engine is no longer VVT and I currently have a permanent VVT sensor code. I found the issue back in December and turned off VVT in my tune. Once I did that, the pending and current codes stopped yet, the permanent code remains. No issues passing emissions once the pending and current codes were resolved. 100 cycles is a guess by the dealer since they informed me the ECM will decide based on programming... Hope that helps... -Don
