If you are the sort of owner who is into changing cams, there is some history of the needle bearings in the rocker arms failing.

The biggest problem with mine is all the soccer moms in their SUV's trying to race. Even had a Tesla SUV that wanted to play a few weeks back ..... in a school zone no less!

I can't take credit for this. But there was a thread about it and what to do. A lot of people were having this problem in the early 5th Gens. What we did was take the seal out of the Brake fluid cap. Then get a plastic milk bottle and trace the gasket on the milk bottle cut it out and put the plastic gasket in the cap first then the original gasket & put back on the reservoir. Mine and my sons have never leaked since. He has a std. & I an auto.

I would say the whiney end users I see on this forum from time to time.

Probably just as well that you didn't race that Tesla. I really hate those things btw, fast and quiet just don't belong together.

Did that a couple of years ago when I read it.. has not leaked since.

My only problem with it.. tires.. Gone through 4 sets in under 16K miles. But happy days at the track.

The tune does NOTHING to prevent collapse of the defective AFM lifters between starts.

Only upgrading the lifters to an improved design solves the problem.

I think he is talking about the tune shutting off the afm as far as collapsing lifters. I havnt read alot about it happening over the years on here.

$6 fix for the leaky brake reservoir cap.

67% thicker than the OEM seal I removed from my 2011.

Available at Advance Auto and others.

I'm sure the milk-jug spacer fix accomplishes the same thing as installing a thicker gasket.

I've had a 2012 2LTRS and a 2015 2SSRS

On both the glove box mechanism needed replaced and the steering wheel leather came undone. Both were covered under warranty.

Shutting off the AFM doesn't fix defective lifters. Only replacing the lifters fixes the defective lifters.

The lifter problem was all the talk of this forum in 2010, 2011, and 2012. It was a prevalent problem not only for Camaro but for literally millions of GM owners with V8 engines and automatic transmissions. That included many V8 pickup trucks and V8 Cadillacs built over a span of 5 years or so.

Think about it.

When I went to the dealer with this problem they didn't even try to relplicate the problem, because it's intermittent. They just said OK, leave the car and we'll see you in a week. They did a great job, btw. They'd had lots of practice.

You really think you needed to explain that ? Im well aware ...my fbo drag raced l99 has had zero issues...believe me .I'm well aware of any issues with my car. I posted in response to the poster talking about afnm engaging. A tune disables that.
