WOT Box
So I just installed my n2mb wot box and it works great. Without any adjustments the 2 step popping is very rapid. Does anyone know what PID values to use for slower louder pops? This is just a personal preference.

Never heard of a WOT wide open throttle BOX for decel popping; let alone wanting Deceleration popping coming from the fuel cut off and adjusting the engines AFR or what ever to make more popping/burble with just a BOX its usually in the tune..
MY Camaro has dual mode and just naturally does it with the tune more than stock ; not that I would want more its pretty perfect as is and sounds bad ass, and not that I would want more or less and adjust things to make more minor fuel explosions from the hot exhaust caused by the fuel cutoff, I worry about my high flow cats enough... And would think that forcing pops could be very bad for the engine; kind of what I thought they made it for was no lift shifts and that's not always a good thing especially for a non dedicated for drag race car, I don't go WOT and stay there for shifts unless I am spot on and getting fishy between gears not so fun. A slower louder pop may just force enough back into the chamber to mess you up.... and popping while going WOT is more a ricer kind of tune the thing for pops and to hell with the engine deal IMO.... Now the deal with those I thought was being able to not lift your foot to shift which I can already do with skill but have to be fast on the shift with my MGW if I am drag racing and really don't go to the floor board much as I have enough power to shred tires not even trying. A lower ET for racers though is a good thing, changing a car just to make more popping like lots of ricer videos ...well that's a matter of preference and I make little ricers around here envious if I down shift as they don't have but fart trumpets usually or a cheap little turbo and make lots of noise for feeling proud of their Econo turd...much different than a tuner who may spend mega bucks so they can go race which are rare and not so much on the street here. Usually it would be a WRX guy with stickers and a giant wing around here thinking he is all that.... And kind of sad, had to show up a 370 Z the other day and he was sad ...LOL real sad.... but noise for noise sake..IMO dangerous for valves with back pressure.

I get where you're coming from but not sure you understand the original post. This is not a decel pop. It is a launch control used for racing. I just want to know if anyone with this box has messed with the PID values to change exhaust note.

Probably don't know WTF I am talking about or misunderstanding your post, but I thought that the 'signature' 2-step sound is tied heavily to idle speed activated?

Yes the tone of the two step does heavily depend on the rpm you choose to activate it at. The wot box holds rpm by cutting power to the ignition coils. There is a value in the wot box program that affects how quickly and evenly this cut off occurs. I want to see if anyone has found a good value to use.

N2mb doesn't have this feature, lnc2000 for example has it so you can retard the timing to create boost or more popping, to do this with the n2mb you would need to do the iat relay method to allow access to the -40 timing table, so the only thing you really have control is the rpms

As far as pid access you will need the password which is easy to find but you'll probably find the stock settings to work best. The PID control determines how the car reaches / holds revs for the 2-step and I wouldn't mess with it unless you understand how it works.

Jon from n2mb got back to me. The solution is to input a different number of cylinders in the software such as 6,4, or 2.
