Noweeds Cutouts Needed
Hi there,
I’m looking for Noweeds cutouts, does anyone have them for sale? I have a 5th gen LS3 with a BTR Stage 2 cam and NPP exhaust. I need to wake up that thing. NPP is not loud enough but I cant do X pipes cause my neighbors were complaining. |

I don't understand - you have factory cutouts with NPP, which you say is not loud enough, but you also say it's too loud. What's the rest of the exhaust setup, from the heads to the tips?

I'm reading that he wants it louder, but needs it quiet to be able to creep out of his neighborhood.
So I'm guessing his plan is too install cutouts so it can be quiet when rolling out of the hood and the open the cutouts when away from home. |

I just can't imagine getting rid of the NPP for anything else if you've already got it.

My NPP never sounded as great as my noweeds.
Not sure what the confusion is. Noweeds is basically open headers - can't really do much louder. |

NPP is basically a straight shot through the muffler. The only difference between NPP and a cutout would be if you have something after the cutout (such as a factory H-pipe, secondary cats, etc) that's influencing the tone, and the location of the cutout. Cutouts under the car always sound especially insane inside the car, simply because you're pounding on the bottom of cabin with all that noise bouncing right off the pavement. My cutouts in the very back right before the mufflers sounds pretty much identical to an NPP car with the same exhaust setup from the heads back.

Sorry for the confusion. let me explain. First I took off all cars, mufflers and added LT headers from stainless works... Then I thought it wasn’t loud enough and did the BTR stage 2 cam... It became too loud and it was light freight train, you could hear it from 5 blocks and I was driving too much attention and my neighbors threaten me that they will report my car for noise disturbance... So I got a NPP from a buddy who upgraded to corsa and also used a NPP in a box to control the valves, which is nice and quiet... But that’s not my style, I want it louder especially during meets... So I’m looking into Noweeds cutouts... Hopefully I made sense now... If not I’ll clarify further...

Noweeds are much louder than NPP..really no comparison for decibles.
I have thought about making my own, 12vdc ball screw actuators are cheap. Noweeds kits seam expensive for little if any performance gain, over NPP.

I guess I would pull the catback loose after the header collectors and take a listen - if you like what you hear, then some Noweeds diverters right there under the car might be the ticket for you.

Obviously their proximity to the source of the noise (the engine) also plays a role. If you want maximum noise for the operator, then dumps right under the seats is where it's at. If you want nearly that much noise and aggression without being quite so insane from the drivers seat, than NPP and/or cutouts out back is where it's at. And it all comes down to personal preference, which is incredibly subjective. So, try things, and find out what you like best...
