Another Introduction

I've already posted a couple of threads, and you guys have been awesome with answers, but I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.

About two weeks ago my wife started getting this itch for the new camaro, and I did everything I possibly could to encourage her to scratch that itch. I've been in love with F bodies as long as I can remember. The first car I remember my folks having was midnight blue 1978 Camaro with t-tops. I was devestated when my folks divorced and mom had to sell the car for something she could afford.

After seeing the first Transformers movie a couple years ago, I again fell in love with Camaros. So about a week and a half ago, my wife and I put down a deposit on a Rally Yellow 2LT RS with 20 inch rims. We originally added the rally stripes, but after following a thread on this board and realizing how different the factory stripes were from the Bumble Bee Stripes, we decided to add them after we get them. Of course I want to have them painted on...and after I paint it the right color of yellow. So we'll see how that all plays out. I also want to swap out the LT nose for the SS nose. I like that mail slot!

I also have in my garage an 82 Trans Am that I am turning into KITT from Knight Rider. I think after I get it done I'm it I'm going to sell it, and build a 76 Camaro and have the matching pair.

I guess that's less about me and more about my cars...but the cars are the important part right?

If your gonna paint it the correct bumble bee color exterior which is implied in your post, you might want to order it in white rather than yellow, i belive that would make it easier. Only one person on here has actually done the paint, its quite and extensive and costly job to repaint the whole car the correct color.

I'd love to repaint the car, but in all fairness I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. I've already talked to my body shop and we're looking at about $3500 for a paint job. Not that it's a bad price, but just not sure it's worth it right away.

Welcome Gregg,
hope you enjoy the forum. I would have to agree on the paint job. Being costly and the car looks nice in it's new paint from the factory.

So now the question is, do I have the Bumblebee stripes painted on or do I buy them as decals?

I could be.

I use the name droidboy because for about 15 years I've been a professional prop builder for films and collectors, specializing in building full sized R2-D2's.

Here is one of the last ones I built for a client.

Thanks for the kind words all. I'm definitely enjoying this place so far. It sure beats the hell out of building KITT, where it feels like everything is done by committee.
