PRC CNC Ported LS3 Heads Going on the Engine Dyno Today!!
Guys we're porting the stock LS3 cylinder heads on our engine dyno LS3 today! We'll post dyno graphs asap showing power gains from cnc porting your stock castings.
Anyone wanna take guess at what power will be added with cnc porting the heads & no milling for extra compression? I'll get info & dyno sheets up later today! |

I woudl like to see 20HP at the wheels, so that would be 24-25 on an engien dyno. That is what I was told to expect from some very reputable porting companies.
You say you are using the PRC ones? Just tryign to keep track of what is already tested, as I will also be doing some on my car, and could use a different company so that we have multiple ones to compare. Last edited by ZZcamaro; 10-01-2009 at 01:18 PM. |

I think I read somewhere that GM did a very good job with the LS3 heads so if its more than 10 or 15 I would be happily surprised.

If you look at the flow numbers in the catalog you see that they pick up 5 to 15 CFM. The big gains are all at the higher lift numbers. Since it's now October 6th and no dyno numbers I would say that they also didn't see a big jump in the numbers. The LS3 is a bad boy from GM. The days of huge gains are over. Robin

What GM's heads do & what other brands heads do could be something completely different. I don't know what you've seen power gains from the GM cnc heads, but we've had pretty good luck with our port.
Sorry for the delay getting the graphs up guys, this LSx shootout stuff has me working double time on other stuff! It's bad when you have the data & don't even take time to post it for over a week! LOL Enjoy ![]()

Not bad for under $750 exchange!!!!
The heads maintain stock valve drop so your not limiting yourself to smaller camshafts to maintain good p/v!

How would these do (power gain) on say a TVS + cam motor? I would expect more power, just curious as to how much more...
