Buy the Camaro...you'll drive it more have fun...I found out the hard way that my Vette simply collects dust in the garage (i.e. hate parking it somewhere for fear of it being vandalized, rained on, expensive to repair, etc.)...I always drove my Camaros and Mustangs, but not the Vette.

I guess I'm a minority here, lol, I'd take the Camaro over the Vette. If you where to offer me the choice between a 74 Corvette Stingray and a Camaro and I'd do some squirming. I guess I'm just a Camaro fan

Well I guess all the people that love the Corvette better have the dealers dust off the ones sitting in the lot that I have to trip over and get around to see the 1 or 2 Camaros on the lot........and buy one. There is a reason Bowling Green is shut down seemingly every other week and all November.....they aren't moving
For the common man, the Camaro is about everything you can ask for in a fun car, thats good enough for me. Bring on the C7 that looks like a Stingray and I might change my opinion

I've never been a fan of the vette or the stigma that comes along with it.
Yes it's the iconic sports car, but the Camaro just has something I think the vette doesn't. And that would be personality. Don't hate me just my opinion. My family has been in possession of a Camaro since before I was born and it's always been a part of my life so maybe I am biased, but I look at the Camaros of all generations and I see a car that embodies the spirit and collective independence of the people that made this nation what it is. :flag1: When I look at a vette all I see is, "sweet, another 60k vette ." Again just my opinion , I'm on the Camaro forum, I have a Camaro on order, we have a 1981 Camaro in the garage, and I would say go with the Camaro. If you want to drop some cash on the Camaro you can make it perform similar to a vette, but it will never BE a vette. Which is fine by me!

Apples and Oranges
As a Vette owner I would never trade my Vette for a Camaro. Don't get me wrong, I love the new Camaro and wish I had a garage to fit one in.
But as we have read on other threads in this site they are not the same car. The Camaro will never handle as good as a Vette does, and the power to weight ratio is not even close. I am very happy for all of you with your new Camaro's and when the lease on my wifes car comes up next year........we will see. I have had three Camaro's in my life (67, 75, 84) and would love to have another.

If you want a vette get it now. Lets turn things around for a minute and say you can buy a new camaro for 10k under msrp and a vette would be msrp at the least. there was a time when all vettes were well over msrp. It may return

The Datsun 280Z I drove in high school in the late 90s was called a "poor man's porsche." As much as I loved that thing, it was kind of a piece of junk. The Camaro doesn't deserve a similar title.
