Looking for input on an LS3 build...

Looking for input...

What are your suggestions for performance parts...

Heads either porting and polishing existing or complete new...

Camshafts either plug and play or custom grind (obviously new rods, lifters springs etc...

Going to start working on a budget for a build on my 2012 LS3.

Going to go forced induction with ProCharger. Plan is headers and exhaust this summer, already has CAI.

Looking at heads, cam and blower in the off season.

Main goals:
Added horsepower, better exhaust sound, not a track car, still street-able and occasional parade.

I put 7 to 10k on annually since I live in a state where winter doesn't want to seem to end....

Research now, build later!!!

TIA

Well your bolting a pro charger to it......... The rest of what you stated above is really not needed unless your trying to achieve 600+ sounds to me like you need a fuel system some e85 and some sticky tires

Yea - unless you're goal is stupid power just put the pro charger on with E85 and a fuel system, and call it a day. It'll make pretty stupid power even just like that.

You won't be disappointed with the ProCharger - got mine installed last December right before the bad weather hit here in Michigan. Don't forget your fuel system. Just had the ZL1 fuel pump installed a few weeks ago but haven't had it back on the dyno yet, as we're waiting for the summer fuel to hit the pumps. My tuner says it makes a big difference.

Good luck with your build.

Thanks for the input folks....

I run 91/93 non-oxy in it right now since it isn't a daily driver and I've found the ethanol fuel seems to go bad faster...

Looking for some education here as I really don't know the answer to this but what is the benefit of going to E85 if the fuel deteriorates more quickly?

As a general rule I stick with non-oxy in my Camaro and my Harley.

Thanks!

You can add timing/boost while resisting detonation from the extra octane. Just run it in summer with a flex fuel sensor and when the weather starts to turn run straight gas so it doesn't sit in the tank.

So the E85 actually increases the octance?

Huh...

Since you mentioned going forced induction, I am offering this link. It's a sticky thread in the forced induction section of the forum. Quite a few members have listed the components used in their engine builds. Hopefully it helps...
