Yes, stock Supercar 3’s. The rear tires had about 500 miles on them and the fronts were down to 4/32nds. The car still has the stock alignment too. This was the first time I had driven in rain. It’s hard to see from the video but the rain was just constantly coming down the entire session.

I’d be curious to see how Provoste would do at Road Atlanta, could be a close one |

Looks like fun, sometimes those rain sessions can be a nice change! same conditions for everyone out there
Which ptm were you using? In my last heavy rain session I was quite disappointed with rain ptm. The heavy traction control is okay but esp being so invasive / not letting you catch the car yourself is pretty annoying. Thinking of sport1 for next time. What’s the experience of the others? |

I am sure Provoste would haul ass as well - zero doubt As to PTM modes and rain be carefull if you dont have good run out zones (and the Glen sure doesnt) or tons of prior practice somewhere real safe. In the rain you have to feel the car completely and really anticipate what the car will do and correct it before it does it as once you lose traction and start sliding it is very difficult to regain traction if youre even just a wee bit late with a correction. If you wait for a slide to start chances are youll spin out. And one doesnt have to go very fast to lose it, especially when tires are cold. Just my 2 cents |

V6, but 1LE so hopefully it still counts. Had the car for 5 days before taking it to an autocross. Certainly still a lot to learn, but it was fun.

I think a tuned v6 with the right tweaks for autocross would be just as fast. Not of room for v8 plus the weight to power ratio is in favor once a procharger or turbo is added. Only just guesing not into the autocross scene as others.. But I can see the possibilites... with the newer gen v6 and 4 cylinder cars. The car manufacters are leaning hard to meet euro green standards and once harder lines of the US to comply Paris accords. Most high end models are going smaller gas engine and electric combos.
I would not be surprise the mid engine vette and possible camaro will follow suite with a hybird powerplant. Too me it will be more difficult to throw easy mods or add ons without the know how or serious cash. Thus is why I think people like me are grabbing up cars before the change over. Keep motoring on at autocrossing for sure |
