Right...because a new 2018 SS decided not to have optional 6-piston front /4-pot rear brakes, they don't use that old TR-6060 anymore, forget PTM, and they definitely don't still use the 3rd Gen Magnetorheological shocks that debuted all the way back on the 2012 ZL1....oh wait yes they do

Mag shocks has been around for over 15 years and has gone through many changes , the 1LE just happens to have the best available right now , better then C7 Corvettes till owners complained and now GM offers a new calibration for it , at $350 from the dealer , GM is not offering it for the Gen 5 ZL1 . I wouldn't pay much for a used 5th Gen ZL1, i feel you are just losing out on too much .

I'm keeping my 14 SS ragtop and looking to add a 14-15 ZL1 ragtop. Just not triple black this time.

They are the same 3rd Generation (dual coil) shocks that debuted in 2012

Yes but it stops there , the Gen 6 1LE adds eLSD into the PTM and new tunning and calibration of the MRC which in all is far more advanced then whats in the the gen 5 ZL1.

That would be a great choice , i went from a 2010 SS/L99 to a 2014 SS 1LE and there is a huge difference in driving those two cars . I would think you can buy a 2015 1LE well under 30k .

I think you should go with a 14/15 1LE. It’s much more practical as a DD than a Grand Sport and it’s much cheaper than getting a brand new 1LE.

It's NOT going to be a DD.

I'm also not interested in another 5th gen SS since I already have one. Granted the 1LE will handle better and sound slightly better. I like the way my car looks better. I'm not a fan of the black 5th gen 1LE wheels which is the only color they came in. The 6th gen wheels look WAY better. I just don't feel like I'm gaining much going that route. In the end it's still a 5th gen SS which is what I have now.

The 6th gen 1le wheels are fantastic but the 5th ZL1black wheels on the 5th gen 1le are in my opinion the best looking 5th gen wheels.

So far advanced yet it's still a Gen 3 and not a Gen 4..

It is a updated version of the 3rd gen MRC in the 1LE .What i do know is its not luck that makes the 6th gen 1LE faster around tracks like Laguna Seca then cars with a lot more HP and cost much more , including the 5th gen ZL1 and Z28 .

Sorry but I don't know how much stock I put in those lap times. Unless that's a C4 ZR1 there is no way on Earth a 1LE is faster than a C6 ZR1 in any way shape or form.

The first C6 ZR1 beat the Z28 at the Nurb by 11 seconds (The 13' beat it by 15) yet lost to the Z28 on your list at Laguna Seca.

Either the drivers are the huge difference or maybe they forgot to put ZL1 before the 1LE instead of SS
