Did the Stock Muffler Delete but now I need a more Mellow Exhaust sound.
Before you all think I'm crazy I'll give the background info.
After considering selling my 2SS Spring Edition I decided to keep it and just sold my DD. That said my Camaro is now my DD. I do work from home so it will get less than 10K per year of use. However I will need to spend some time on the freeway to travel to a customer and the current Exhaust system setup is obnoxious and I need to tone it down. The system is stock except for the Stainless works Muffler Delete Pipes so it's pretty loud all of the time. I don't want to put the stock mufflers back on because they were way to quiet. Is there something in between that I can go to and get a nice mellow sound? In the past I've used Magnaflows on other vehicles but I'm curious as to what some of you guys have used. Thanks in advance for input, Ken |

I put on the Magnaflow Resonated x-pipe. It deepens the note and quiets it a bit. I'm pretty happy with it. This is on the LS3 exhaust set up. It's really a muffler by definition.
It's either that or aftermarket mufflers. |

magnaflow resonated x pipe 11386 sounds great with a muffler delete. i ran that exhaust set-up with headers and it was fairly mellow at idle and cruise

Mine is stock manifolds and cats, and is just a touch more aggressive than stock. Doesn't draw attention until I want it to.

I also have a 2SS vert and nearby neighbors. Went with resonator delete and Magnaflow performance. Subtle at low RPM and stratup but growls when you get on it. Best of both worlds.

Ended up with the Magnaflows. They really took the noise down quite a bit but the car still sounds like it has some authority with the semi-lumpy cam at idle.
My wife and daughter are angry because they liked the noise but now I can actually have a phone conversation on the road. I told them that as the mufflers break in it will get a little more noisy to get them off my back. Any truth to that statement? On a side note, the mufflers and tips look pretty but the fit was less than perfect. Both sides had different issues that required metal "adjustment" of at least 1/2" so they would not bang on the Passenger side Sway Bar Mount and the Differential Mount For the driver side. Also no matter what we do the tips will not center in the factory holes. They sell the kit as bolt on but it was anything but that. |

there is some truth to that statement. give it a month or two and you should notice a difference

I have the FlowMaster Force II axel back exhaust; IMO, it gave me a nice tone without being obnoxiously loud. Here are some sound videos I made & posted in a different thread with the stock exhaust and after I installed an x-pipe ...

+1 for a resonated x pipe, will mellow out the sound and tone.

I had the Magnaflow muffler delete and it fit perfect. Weird how some brands have a hard time getting it right.
