I’ve never been banned, but this thread might get me a vacation if I’m not careful. You know it’s killing me right?

While this forum may have slowed a bit with the introduction of the 6th Gen, there is still a wealth of information to be had....

Yes, there are fewer "will a CAI void my warranty" threads and fewer "what oil do we use" or "what tires are the best for snow" threads, but there are still new threads occasionally on different topics not covered recently....

Part of the slow down is from long term members telling newer members to do a search for a topic we know has been covered 10,000 times, but they may not and the search feature isn't very user friendly or good on this forum. It's the nature of the software.... Do a Google search for anything 5th Gen Camaro and it will most probably lead you right back here 9 out of 10 times....

As far as the off topic areas, for Camaro 5, Camaro 6 and Corvette 7, those are common areas....

Bare in mind, the 5th Gen has been out over 9 years... and the excitement of a nw model of a car that wasn't built for 8 years has cooled.... Many members of Camaro5 have moved on to Camaro6. Others have moved to FB and other social media outlets with fellow members who may or may not log back in here... I myself was off of here for almost a year with medical issues.

Camaro5 is still alive and well....

Not necessarily... Depends on hat is said, how many posts you have and or how long you've been here.... Someone with say 8,219 posts knows what is and isn't acceptable....

OP most forums slow down/fade out over time, BUT are still relevant. take me for example, was out of muscle/performance car scene for almost 25 years due to getting married & raising two kids (now 27 & 24) bought my camaro 4-20-17 lol on date. As soon as I got home from the purchase I googled 5th gen camaro to start, this forum came up. I trolled the forum for well over a year before joining & soaked up all the info available here . I started modding almost immediately. Every mod done to my car was researched thru this site + other ones, point being there is still an s load of great info available on this forum. BTW the last muscle car I owned was a 70 Chevelle, 350 SBC built, spent more than I should have on it like usual, 450 hp, my current camaro would eat it's lunch all day long + a much more enjoyable ride that does not beat the snot out of you. BTW I'm an old fart now (55) funny...as they say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree, my 24 yo son is also a gear head (into turbos etc on imports lol) between us we own 8 vehicles (none of which are stock) 1st time he drove my car, the look on his face was priceless. he looked over at me with an s eating grin & said "now I know why you bought this car", followed by "you are never selling this car, I am inheriting it" poiont being forums slow down but live on at the same time. wow I guess I got a little long winded there. BTW incase nobody tumbled to it I now have a Camaro & and Ex-Wife, honestly the Camaro costs me less $...Smiles per mile, lol

I wouldn’t put you in that position. I know that you know that I know better.

From what I read in the Off Topic section, I missed the hey day coming in here in 2012. I think as the car grows old, new issues come up that keeps us ‘generation challenged’ members still relevant. That or we have no friggin lives and should have been doing something more constructive all along. But I’m feeling the burn in my right thumb as I type.

I was waiting for you....... I've been around here in the middle of many heated debates and also kept updated on many more. I've seen things posted that were way worse then anything I've ever posted. Sometimes you can have a great debate among grown men that can take it and give it. Then there's the sweetheart that gets easily offended and reports people. Comedy can be lost in text and that's happened to me twice. Now the Camaro6 forum p$$%ed me off and I'm guilty as charged in that case. Before you ban people there should be a check to see if the suspect has the victim on his friends list.....you will fund most likely they do....which makes it even better.

I’m just lucky that they aren’t able to identify passive aggressiveness or dish out punishment for it.

the posts that are infracted are done so by the individual admin/moderator. We don’t have a committee that meets and decides what to do. However, we do back each other up. It’s what has made this forum as successful as it has been. I’ve seen quite a few forums die a painful death, as well as FB pages due to lax moderation. As you may have figured out, often times infractions are handed out in groups. At other times they are individually handed out. The easiest way to avoid them is to recognize when a thread is started or attended by panty wasted people that can’t handle the truth and at the same time not intentionally stirring the pot. I’m not saying you are guilty of either. In fact I have no idea what you were banned for. I look at those occasionally, but mostly when I’m looking into the infraction history or lack there of with regards to members...

I could also mention the report button... there are 15 mods/admins total and a couple hundred thousand members in total on three sites... we don’t see everything.. if you see something, report it... I know, don’t want to be the narc/tattle-tale/etc...

it’s actually pretty easy to recognize, as I tend to be passive aggressive a lot... it’s hard to infract “intent.”

nah, we see right through that as well... there’s a kid lives in Columbia at least part time, haven’t seen him around in years that tried that as well...haven’t seen him around in forever...
