So... we need helmets. Where did you get that info? I only have four wheeler helmets... will they work? Hell I don't even know if they will fit on my melon in the car. Maybe I will just be a spectator. Whatever, it will be fun non the less.

I am checking again on Monday that is my mistake for not knowing that info. I know alot of strips have time index's for helmets..like if you are running 13.99 and below you need a helmet. So I am just used to always wearing a helmet...but to be sure I will check to see if they are needed for the dragstrip and roadcourse. Sorry for not having that info right now. I know of quite a few sites i can point people towards if they need them, that are not expensive at all.

Well cheapest shipping quote to get my car hauled there is $1900 Canadian, so I am now going to look into flights and a rental, but I don't think I'm gonna come guys :(

It just won't feel right without the Faith Keeper....

Maybe next time you will be a bit more centrally located :(

Since you are serious about having fun with your car please invest in a helmet. It is insignificant compared to what was spent on the car and the car can be replaced - you can't. Safety is always number one. If your son is going to ride he is definitely worth a good helmet - Snell approved.

I always bring a backup helmet. If you plan on borrowing a helmet, usually the rule is that you have to wear a helmet liner. They cost as little as $2.99 at most local motorcycle dealers.

Not sure about the road course but SGMP is a NHRA sanctioned track and NHRA rules apply on the dragstrip.

Quote:
The NHRA 2009 Rule Book Reads as follows for Helmets and Goggles:
As outlined under Class Requirements, drivers in all classes, including motorcycles, must wear a helmet meeting Snell or SFI Specifications.
SFI Spec 31.1A = Snell SA, open-face helmet
SFI Spec 31.2A = Snell SA, full-face helmet
SFI Spec 41.1A = Snell M, open-face helmet
SFI Spec 41.2A = Snell M , full-face helmet
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, full face helmet mandatory on all cars 9.99 or quicker. See Individual Class Requirements for additional requirements. Shield mandatory 7.49 & quicker.
E.T. cars (13.99 or quicker) must use a helmet meeting Snell 2000, 2005, 2007 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1A, 41.2A or 41.1/2005 Specs. Drivers in supercharged, front-engine, open-bodied cars and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2000, SA2005 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 Specs. See Class Requirements.
Unless they have changed it the passenger rule was 14.00 and slower could have one passenger during time runs only. The passenger had to be 16 years old or older and both driver and passenger had to where a helmet.
