17inch welds question with gravel getting stuck between wheel and caliper
TO all my fellow readers that have 17 inch welds on their car. The clearance is really tight on my car. I have had this happen on two consecutive trips to the strip. A pebble from the track will get stuck between my caliper and the wheel. Has anyone else had this issue? Both times have scratched my wheel up pretty good and starting to think 18s would have been a wiser decision. Thoughts and/or your experiences with yours?

I have not had anything stick between my caliper and wheel on 17" welds.
Is it a gravel infield/parking lot? Gravel staging? The smart ass answer is stop driving in gravel The reality is other than a wheel change, you are probably stuck with getting out and checking before the pass.

Both times it happened to me I heard the noise after the pass and get out and saw wheel was scraped. Second time I removed the wheel and found this on the caliper.

What chip are you talking about? I don't see a chip, all I see is the gravel he is talking about setting on his caliper. |
