I got mine and installed it yesterday. What a nice product. Packaged nicely and easy to install in a bout one hour. Feels stronger and throatier sound from the front. Nice job RotoFab.

Sounds really good here. So many have nothing but positive feed back for your product. I am undecided yet. I'm either for the R/F or ADM. Just waiting for the testing results but from what I hear, you'll be 1 of the top ones. Good luck.

Roto-fab CAI

We haven't been working on the V6 version. I hope we can get on it over the winter. Our v6 G8 intake performs very well, so we expect similar results for the Camaro.
We are considering a custom molded closed box on the V6 car. If we do go that route, we will probably use the same box for V8 cars and offer a closed box option for all of the Camaros. We don't necessarily see this as an improvement to our current system, it will simply fill the ticket for those that think a closed box is superior.
Thanks for your interest in our products!

Roto-fab IOM on the way

I call an ordered a custom painted Roto-fab with an IOM box Friday around 3pm. I was expecting a week in the paint shop. I get home and there was an e-mail and invoice telling me they had one on the shelf painted and it's on the way. Wow.....can't wait....I had been reading the thread on the CAI dyno shoot out but I just couldn't wait anymore...thanks guys...looking forward to getting it on. Tools are waiting....

Very happy with my black box, but wish I had known I could get an IOM one. Oh well. Roto-Fab should update their web site to reflect this.

Thanks for the suggestion- we are doing so today. It's been a while since we've taken a close look at the Camaro CAI listing on our site. I just sent you a pm with info to exchange your black box for an IOM box.

I received my IOM Roto-fab Tuesday. Installed that evening with no problems. Took about 45 minutes. Easy directions to follow. Aside from sounding fantastic I have been averaging about 17.4 - 17.8 mpg on my weekly commute in Atlanta traffic. This week after the install I'm at 22.0 mpg.

Hey guys just thought I would post my roto fab experience: From my journal: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25917

Before I got to work, I disconnected the battery and did the 5/20 fuse pull, just so when I restarted, the ECU wouldn't get confused by all the new air ratios

Stock motor:

Roto-Fab box 'o' horsepower:

Opening the box: Packaging was great! Nothing was smashed, lots of foam pieces to stop stuff from rubbing together, and actually a foam piece in the bottom of the box, custom cut to fit all the parts into to help hold them in place. +100 points on great first impression!

Took off engine cover (don't forget to take off the oil filler cap first! and removed the stock unit: Also took the time to vaccuum out all the grasshoppers that collected in the old air box.

Here's where your air comes in from (The camera is in the stock air box area, pointing to the front of the car in this picture. That plug that is beneath the blue dot goes to the headlights)

Pic of the MAF in the new housing, lots of room for CFMS!

Heat shield/MAF housing getting mounted in. It mounts to stock mounting points and was a pretty easy fit.

Just a pic of how good of a seal the heat shield makes

elbow and filter on (I got a dry filter 'cause I have had problems with oil ones in the past, just my personal preference)

Just an example of nice extras that Roto Fab thinks up: They give you some wire loom to completely cover the MAF wires (just bare wires from factory) and also a piece of silicone hose to protect the air conditioner fill line from rubbing on the heat shield. Very good ideas, makes the final presentation that much nicer IMO

Done

Old parts:

Something you always want to see when you are done working on your car: No left over parts!

The sound of this thing at WOT is unreal! Don't know if the fuse pull amplified the gains, but most definately more power. Great sound at acceleration, yet cruising sounds completely stock, which is great.

I would wholeheartedly reccomend the Roto-Fab product!

I got my Rotofab today. But I am not going to install it....................Until I get to the track. I am going to get some baseline runs and then hit the pits and do the install. Then I will run it again to see what it does. I am not going to change ANYTHING else. Just the intake.

Ron.
