I am near 99% paddles.

It totally changes the way the car feels. Especially since it takes off in 2nd gear in auto mode, Drive or Sport. In paddle mode, I have the choice.

Anybody ever wonder why it feels so much more torquey (I know, not a real word) in manual mode?

If I was at the track though, it would be Sport mode all the way.

When I was daily driving my ss I would have in manual mode most of the time unless I was just running errands and such.

I don’t think I’ve driven in Sport mode since I got my stage 3 cam installed. I also have 3.91 gears, and a 3600-3700 multi disk stall. Will try Sport mode next time I go for a drive lol

Paddle shift since day 1. Love the sound of a V8 with Borla ATAK and headers when downshifting. Pops and crackles like crazy

Always driven in sport mode. I like having more control of the car.

Get yourself a paddle shift extended and it makes paddles even more fun and convenient.

I always thought that the 2nd gear start in drive was disproved. I know for a fact the ZL1 starts in 2nd while in drive, but it also has a different trans. Based on my sedan with the 6l80, it starts in 1st in both drive and sport.

That being said, in my ZL1 I use sport mode, and my sedan I use 99% drive since getting it tuned.

I agree my SS has always started in first in either mode. Now if I am in paddle shift mode in whatever gear say 3rd and I stop it only goes down to 2nd and I have to manually put it into first if I want it in that gar. But mine is clearly in first as I can't go very far before it changes.

I drive my car in sport all the time. No paddle shifting bc my tranny is tuned pretty sweet. And like many others I am cammed, stalled and geared.

The funny part was when I tried to use the paddles after the cam, converter, and gears in the same manner as I had beforehand. Me: "What the Fuh... ...ohhh kayyy perhaps not.." I then put it in Sport and haven't went back.

I will receive my ZL1 convert soon. I’m 67 and not a fan of black wheels. Has anyone sandblasted stock black wheels and powder coated them in a chrome finish? Or aft mkt chrome wheels same sizes as stock? Rick Walker

Drive most of the time. Sport mode at the drag strip. Paddle shift once in a while on back roads with the windows rolled down to hear the great sounds of downshifting.
