The only thing I've found to be more expensive with the SS maintenance wise is rear tires. This car eats them! If you want it & can swing it get the SS. You don't want to be swapping a 6 for an 8 in under a year like so many on here do and take a hit on the trade. If the V6 is really what you know you want then go for that.

If am really honest with myself, the V6 is more than enough for me. I don't track, race or even speed.
I just got to have a V8.

Sounds to me like OP already had his mind made up. Just stirring the V8 vs V6 pot.

Based on the OPs follow up comments, tend to agree.

Not getting an SS over a set of tires?? Drive with common sense and you’ll be fine. Sure they don’t grip as well when it’s cold but if your not in for a day at the track I bet you won’t notice much of a difference.

Huge difference when the stock p zeros are cold vs warm. Throw a little water in the mix and they are down right awful. Now they can be driven, just use alot and I mean alot of caution.

I’m sure up there in the great white north with the temperatures you see there is a huge difference... op claims to be from Nashville, l gotta think that’s a big difference from Canada temperature wise.

Yeah he is definitely trolling, he wasn't really looking for a cost difference, just trying to poke the 6 vs 8 battle.

The op is definitely trolling. I drive my SS with summer tires when ever I want in Nashville. Let’s face it if a cheap Set of all seasons are the deciding factor then you probably can’t afford the car. That’s not a knock just a fact. I couldn’t afford my 1LE until the last kid was in college. Lol

I’m gonna have to be honest, i spend a lot of money on maintaing my 2010 v6, with the LLT burning oil and not really having a check oil thing, full synethic mobil 1 at my chevy dealership is 78$, every 3000 miles because i drive hard, Tires go fast (i have the RS package so 20” rims) i looked at a ss until i found out how much more insuring it would be, somewhere along the lines of 2000, (like 1200 more) then i am paying now, factor in tires going faster, larger tires =more $ and lower gas milage ontop of the jump to 93 from 87 These seriously in my opinion are not cheap cars. Lol if you have the extra money then go for it, otherwise full bolt on v6 will do you just fine

He talks so much sh!t with a car his mom bought him. Hopefully she buys him the new Corvette he wants so he moves his nonsense over there. Like when he said airbags were better than coil overs for a track car.
