Just ordered Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow. (275/245)
I had these on my RWD TBSS and they're great! Tire Rack called me to say the 275's were on back order with no ETA. When I mentioned I saw runflats listed in the past, he dug around in the computer some more and found more coded "N0 Porsche XL" They're not runflats but they are exactly like the scorpions I ordered, just coded as OEM Porsche approved, Cayenne I'm guessing. Anyway, they're $2 cheaper and they're on the way. If yall want to go this route, get them fast because there's a few thousand people that are going to need them and not many of them are left. He had no lead time on the filling of back orders. (13 orders at the time of the call) Now, I just need a summer wheel set, CCW, Nutek, I don't know. I'll have the winter to decide. Hope this helps |

Just set that stupid speed warning thingy to alert you when you hit 100mph.

They're fine if you don't plan on doing much to the car and won't take it over 100, but once you start getting into modding, getting the car dyno'd and taking it to the track those tires will be a hazard.

Snow Tires
2011 LT/RS 20" wheels tires worthless on snow. Put 120 pounds of sand in the trunk (like the old days) just increased my downhill sliding speed. Chains worked well, just now researching my options, guess I could go down to 17's and go from there for winter driving.....lol

You will need a set of winter tires. The pirelli tires suck.

The PZeros are worthless in the snow....cause they're summer tires! Get a nice set of winter tires like Blizzaks or Perelli Scorpions. Both are good tires, and they'll make a world of difference in the cold weather/snow. |

Definitely agree that if you could get some winter specific tires you should. This will be my second winter with the SS summer tires and theyre terrible. It's ok once you're on a main road that's somewhat clear, but getting out of my apartment complex is tough. The automatic V6 doesn't have posi trac so they're even a little harder to take in snow

if i had to do it over again i'd buy the 18in pirelli scorpions those tires are only $664 replacement cost over the 20in $1044
The thinner 245 rear tire provides better traction also. but I had to have 20in bling. lol Last edited by mike12345; 12-09-2010 at 10:50 PM. |
