I can't wait to see the Volt with 350 hp. Sales will definitely pick up for the EV cars.

I seemed to remember someone saying they were retiring the volt? Any truth to that?

We have launched the final variant of this generation of Camaro, so the time is right," Chevy spokesperson Mike Albano told Car and Driver of Oppenheiser's move
Well, that seems to confirm there will not be a new Z/28 for Gen 6

For me, electric is to a vehicle like gasoline is to a toaster. Superfluous and misplaced. But thanks, Al and all the best with your endeavors!

Noise and vibrations aside, get in an EV and stomp it, it's quite surprising the amount of acceleration they can achieve.

Yeah until you decide to take a road trip in it. Oh wait, you can't drive more than 300-400 miles between charges? Where are those newfangled "superchargers" at? Apparently they're not in any large quantity like Texas would need. EV is basically a commuter home to work and back solution, that's it. If I buy a car, it had better take me across the entire country as fast as I want to go, not having to make scheduled stops for 4-6hrs to possibly recharge the damn thing........ Nope, I'll stick with stopping at a fuel station and be in and out in 10min while the EV peeps try to sleep it off.

He was genuinely passionate about Camaros, and I think the product reflected that.

He will be missed, but GM certainly picked a good engineer to go head the new EV department for sure.

How old is he though? Doesn't GM have a mandatory retirement rule at age 65?
