Shif light

I'm thinking of adding a shift light, any recommendations or suggestions.

Thanks!

I don't have one in my 5th gen, yet. But - shift lights are GREAT to have in something that gets flogged regularly. It's amazing what a difference it makes in returning your focus to driving, instead of trying to watch the tach.

I know the SST-Max is a really slick OBD-II based shift light that adds the ability to set shift points by gear. That is a really nice feature, because you usually need to bring your "Light on" rpm down for your 1-2 shift, and even 2-3 shift, since you come up on it so fast. Then you can have your 3-4 and 4-5 closer to your fuel cut, so you get maximum stretch on those gears. I'm pretty sure this is the one I want to buy.

Does what he said above for 4 shift points, complete incl.coil p/u...have it installed and hidden in my driver side air vent(tks to another C5'r for the idea)..happy to show anyone at the fest how it was installed and setup...pretty trick since my goal is to keep the car "stock" looking..will even point out the hidden opening in the engine bay to feed the p/u wire thru without any drilling...peace out

btw - I have all 4 shift pints set at 6500....and usually shift at 6800 plus..

Looks like a nice light as well.

The only thing either of the suggested lights are missing (unless I missed it) is a launch function - which will illuminate the light when the vehicle is at a stop, at a pre-set rpm, to aid in holding the car on launch RPM.

Holley Sniper and Raptor both have shift lights with launch settings. I'm getting the Sniper as it has an OBD II connector.

I have the Speedhut OBDII light in my car (same as the Holley). Great addition, and the ability to tune the shift point by gear is truly awesome, you need much more anticipation in the lower gears than the higher ones. Launch mode is nice as well!

Wish I'd seen this yesterday. I ordered the Sniper already, could have save another $15 bucks. Thanks for your response. I'm calling Summit though.

That is without a doubt the downside. If you want to log, it's a no-go. I'll probably have to ditch it some day when I get serious about a full time in car HPT setup - but until then I sure do like tuning my shift point by gear. My 1-2 light is like 300 rpm early than my 3-4 light, it's that much different. I just kept dialing my shift point in each gear up until I'd start tagging the limiter and then rolled 'em back a little.

Just called Speedhut, they charge a $14 shipping fee, so they are just over Summit by a $1.72, BUT, if you buy it from them the light is warrantied for life.
So once the credits hit I'll still be ordering from them and they will honor their sale pricing for me until the credits hit. They also told me they make the lights for Holley.

I don't plan on ever logging so this light is perfect for my application. I can certainly see where it would be a problem if you wanted to log though. Then I guess you could always hardwire it. Thanks for your time.
