Turbonetics kit worth it?
I was looking at the Turbonetics kit and wondering if it’s worth getting. I know Stage 1 is 50 state Smog legal and stage 2 isn’t. I would probably go with stage 2. Any known problems with the kit? Reliable? I would for sure have to upgrade my fuel pump and injectors. Is that all I would need to upgrade? But would my 3” corsa exhaust still work with it? I also have kooks longtube headers that I don’t think would fit. Don’t have cats either. So, probably would get ARH shorty headers. I read somewhere those would fit with the kit.

When I was searching for a turbo kit, I wanted something that was truly bolt on with as little fabrication as possible. I found that AGP, Huron and IPS fit the bill from what others have told me and what I was able to find on the forums here. There are definitely cheaper kits, but most require extensive fab work and come with cheaper Chinese pieces.

Is the Turbonetics kit a cheap quality kit? Still trying to think what route to go. Supercharger or turbo charger. Supercharger I know I can keep my long tube headers

What is your budget, what are your goals ? What is your driving style ?
And will you stop here, or want more in the future ? The Turbonetics would seem the cheapest...but probably hit a dead end long before any other option. |

Turbonetics kit worth it?

I don’t really have a budget, but maybe around 5k-8k? Not including installation and tuning price. When I first started adding mods to my camaro, I wanted to have 500 whp NA. My car right now is close to 500 to the wheels. I was thinking of getting a stroker kit, but the cost is close to what it would be to go forced induction. I would be happy with 650-750whp for a while. Don’t think I need over 850whp. I also have an alky meth kit I can have installed as well. My main concern is reliability and what parts would I have to upgrade for the power

I like the do both. I think the turbonetics Kit you can make some decent power on Ethanol depends on the turbo selection.

+1 AGP You can do the install yourself, it is super easy following the instructions they send you. I had a supercharger kit then went to turbo. Turbo ftw!

I put the LSA SC on my car. With pulleys, cam, headers, injectors, e85 and meth, I've maxed out the little 1.9 liter SC at 750ish to the rear wheels. If you think you might want more, go twins.

you have an all motor cam? and are setup N/A
A centrifugal blower like a ECS kit or a D1SC procharger, i bet will like the more n/a oriented cam. Easier install and more simple than a turbo kit. Then you keep everything you already have and just bolt on boost. Huron is bringing back the single kit. Its been good to me. Their twin kit looks killer as well. |

agp or huron twin kit. don't limit yourself to the smaller t4 charger a single comes with

Turbonetics kit worth it?
I like the AGP kit and am talking to someone from AGP right now. A centrifugal supercharger would allow me to keep my Fast intake manifold and longtube headers which is good. I’m conflicted lol. Twin turbo would be cool. But I would be limited to my trans being able to hold so much power unless I get a Zl1 6L90E trans down the line to make more than 650whp

Yup, truth to that. I’ve broken many a few SC guys hearts with their more peak powerful setups. It’s all about area under the curve in the race power band - the more area versus peak power will win.
