Need a bit of direction if you can give a new Camaro5 guy a hand. My order was placed today and I received an order number. I went to the tracking link and it requires the VIN number. My Salesman said that I would not be able to get the VIN until the car is finished through production. Is that correct? He said I am looking at 8 weeks. Does that sound accurate?

Patiently awaiting my Victory Red SS/RS with white rally stripes!!!

Your dealer should be able to give you an order number, some call it a work bench number.......usually 6 characters....alpha and numeric. Get that an Viz can track your order here. We were told 6-8 weeks last month, and seem to be on schedule.

Welcome to the forum.

Oops, I see you were given an order number........post it here for Viz. Include a period after the number so it is easier for Viz to copy and paste.

Welcome to the site. This thread is specifically, and only, for tracking your order from now until the car is built. If you have a 6 character order number, The Viz will check it for you periodically if you ask. See the other requests here, and follow their lead.

At the very beginning of this thread (page 1) is an explanation of the tracking process and limitations.

Once your car goes to status code 3800, you will be able to get your VIN. With that, you can go to the other tracking location to floow the shipment.

8 weeks sounds very reasonable. I ordered 5 weeks ago, have a target production for this week, and my dealer has suggested another 2 weeks for shipment...a total of 8 weeks.
