hey guys.. i've been reading through the forums and i've noticed that many of you, who have ordered your camaros around the same time or waaaay after i ordered mine, have already gotten your orders accepted by GM, or have TPW's and VIN's, or even already have their cars!..
![]() i ordered mine on the 7th of JULY of this year at my dealership up here in markham, ontario, canada (markville chevrolet) who said i would have the car in 8-10 weeks.. i literally live 40 mins away from oshawa where they make the cars and yet now 14 weeks later, i still don't have as much as a TPW or even confirmation if the order was even accepted by gm.. ![]() i don't understand how ppl in america who ordered their cars after me already have em in their driveways! i keep calling gm canada once every week and they keep telling me the same thing: that they see my order in the system, but no TPW.. same with my dealer.. :bangdesk:so i'm wondering a few things, since i don't believe this is typical.. like if this is because i live in canada and maybe american orders get priority? or maybe it's cuz it's a manual transmission? or maybe it's because i ordered the car in ABM? i hear that's a rare color.. as you can see i'm just grasping at straws here.. the not-knowing and the wait is killing me.. and it really blows to have to take the the TTC (our transit system) to get around since i traded in my previous car as part of my order for the camaro.. ![]() can anything be done to speed things up? anyone out there who might have some insight as to what's going on so i can get some sleep? maybe someone who works for the oshawa plant? or even gm? anything would be greatly appreciated.. thank you! ![]() ![]()

maybe your dealer did not have an open allocation- and I know that there was a restraint on the manual tranys--- so you might try another dealer?

lol damn... well it's not really the wait that's doing it for me, i don't mind waiting, i know it'll be worth it.. i've been in love with camaro's ever since i can remember.. it's the lack of information.. and i reaaaally need a car to get around.. i was expecting to have the car by now.. pretty much a bottleneck in my life right now.. not looking forward to winter without a car... i'm wasting 4-5 hours a day now on public transportation going to and fro downtown from the suburbs when i could be driving it in 1 hr.. i mean c'mon, it's not like they're putting together a ferrari, which takes a year to make.. i'm starting to think it's cuz it's really popular right now and gm has loads of orders to get through.. in that case, it's understandable.. i just don't like not knowing..

I ordered mine around 5-25. It was the memorial day holiday- and my dealer was able to pull some strings and get me moved up to a cancelled order slot.... or I would prob. just now be picked up by GM.
I still don't have my car- but it is in transit- I have had to wait a total of 5 months maybe a little over by the time I get it--- If I had to do it all over again-- I would have done more research and found a dealer with an open alocation and had my car in 8 weeks!!!!!

I would say find another dealer if you can or get your current dealer to give you a definite status. Right now if a dealer has allocation you should not have to wait more then 6 - 8 weeks on average. If you look around the forums you can see that if you have placed an order recently that they are moving through the system fairly quickly when dealers have allocation. That is the biggest key that I learned from personal experience. Unless you can afford to wait an undermined amount of time nail down the dealer and make them tell you where you stand in line to get allocation.

Go with Becky! I've heard that she's worked miracles in helping people out that are in your situation =) It sounds like your dealership doesn't have allocations - they should know if they do or not AND be able to be straight forward with you on it. If they're not doing that, take your business somewhere else... and here's Becky!

Ok, first of all, don't listen to someone who ordered a year ago. Oct 08 to Mar 09 doesn't even count, the car wasn't even being built yet.
Anyway, sounds like your dealer never put your order in. I would tell them to make something happen by next week or you walk. Luck for you there are lots of dealers around the GTA to take advantage of. |
