OEM Car Covers
Okay -- seriously, I'll get to a real question...
![]() My Z/28 came with both indoor and outdoor factory car covers... love the indoor one... snug, sharp looking, soft and protective on the paint. The outdoor one... I assuming it's nylon and has no lining and feels like it's just wouldn't be all that kind to the paint... Thoughts? Am I wrong? Here is my big dumb question --- is the outdoor cover to be fitted over the indoor one? Don't kill me too badly... I just don't think I'd dig the outdoor cover on the car when I'm the track, etc... PS: I'd never use a cover on a dirty car indoor OR outdoor. |

What you're saying makes sense, to double them up when using the outdoor cover... however... Any cover that's flapping around in the wind is an issue. Rule of thumb when anything touching the paint, lubrication is required. Otherwise scratches happen. So an outdoor cover, when needed is OK, like a race care without windows and it's raining. But IMO, an outdoor cover long term does more harm than good. That material is just chafing the paint over and over again.
