8-rib or 10-rib??
Hello everybody.
How much more does the 10-rib buy you over the 8-rib, in terms of belt traction? Anybody ever experience slippage issues with an 8-rib setup, say at 16+psi? Is that 10-rib territory? Thanks, Scott |

Are you talking a dedicated blower drive for the 8rib or accessory drive? If you are taking accessory drive 10 rib is the way to go...

Just a FYI. When I was doing this upgraded I looked around at the different options. The innovates West option was tempting but let me sourcing the pulleys for the Whipple brackets still and a couple small pieces for the Whipple brackets.
In the end I just called Mike at Whipple and ordered their kit. It was complete and very nice. I have long forgot about the price

I think adm had everything to convert your Whipple blower to lsa style front drive so it ends up on its dedicated 8 rib drive and you accessory's end up behind, Corvette spacing for the accessory's. That a good option.
Whipple's kit is 2k. Sometimes you can get a deal on it. It is a complete kit though and it's worth it. That price also includes a ATI balancer so that's worth 500 and their heavy duty tensioner ($400). If you already have the HD tensioner they will deduct that cost from the package I think. The problem I had when looking at the IW kit is you still need some stuff... You will still need 2 pulleys for the Whipple idlers, a 10 rib blower pulley and the correct spacers for the whipple idler pulley brackets. When I added all that up it was close enough that I just bought the whipple kit and never looked back. There was zero guessing with Whipple's kit, everything needed was included and right. The belt they sent me was about 3"short but I wanted to use a green belt anyway.
