That's how you lay the smack—on your first post!

I do what I can. I've actually been watching this site for a few months now. This thread was what finally prompted me to join, I had to comment on that load.

Clearly, most of us agree with you. Everyone can blame CAFE regulations or OPEC pricing for their problems, but GM has always taken problems in stride, delivering ingenious solutions and pushing for better performance every time. It hasn't always been that way with a lot of platforms, including the Camaro, but GM always seeks to outperform the competition.

This car is a wake up call for the entire automotive world! They are not going to kill this car. How many heads rolled when they killed the 4th Gen. With all the promotion and hype (my cousin emailed me from Isreal when he saw it!) GM is using this car to restablish itself in the world market. I can't emember when Honda, Toyota or Nissan (except the new GTR) has ever had this much world wide attention. The Mustang is showing it's age and the Challenger is not what it's cracked up to be only the Camaro is reviving the pure sports car genre. The mystifing ZR-1 didn't get this much attention. CAFE smashe the General will make the econoboxes to satisfy the feds and they will get the nessary credits to continue to make the cars that WE want. This country was built by people who decided to look foward and throw off the shackels of conformity and the Genaral is leading the way to a bright new future with the return of our beloved Camaro and the persistence of the Corvette. The Genarel doesn't stop fighting until the soilders are all gone. Be a pround soilder in the Generals Army and shut these nawsayers and turncoats down. Make them choke on your smoke.

The bad part? They don't need to have a clue as to what they're talking about. And of course, they have nothing at stake.

Yup -- SURE we're gonna abort a car that has captured the hearts and minds of people worldwide. (YES -- worldwide -- you should see the crowds when we sent the concepts to shows in other countries.....)
The camaro will be a big hit in countries like Japan as they love movie vehicles. It was in Transformers, and now will be in the Fast and Furious series. Many Japanese people will buy the car just to make it look like the movie cars.. That is why it is a great idea to offer a Bumblebee package. However I do hope the stripes are painted on that one and the paint is similar if not the same as the original..

I see why they kept Mr. Peters around. He stirs up controversy and attracting people to their site.

That's actually a reason to move the car into production. To this point it has been an investment in development and equipment from the plant, all the cash flow has been negative. Starting to sell cars will start to bring in some of the cash that has been spent.

Even in a worst case scenario, GM goes bankrupt or sells themselves to private equity firm, like Chrysler did (the same one that owns a big chunk of GMAC now), they would compelled to start selling the car in order to generate positive cash flow.

Hey, Hey, Hey. Listen to yourselves, are we going to let a moron, who claims to predict the future get us in an uproar? Since when do car enthusiasts, like ourselves, ever ponder over the price of gas or the car itself? This is about what we want, the history behind the name, are we going to let an idiot, who probably drives a smart car, or rides a bike, dictate us?

Folks do what's right, life is too short to dwell on stupid things, get out there and enjoy it while you can.

Let's just take some time and enjoy and look forward to getting this car. It's too late for it to be cancelled for a while, so let's not worry about all the hub-ub. The more I see and understand of this car, the more it seems, to me, that GM has really spent the time and research into making a truly unique car. I'm not up on a lot of cars lately like I used to be, but I don't think there are many cars with ambient lighting (I know my wifey's Jetta does and it's one of those little things than make me like her car so much) and H.U.D. and who knows what else. I think this attention to detail is going to be apparent when we all start seeing them in person. I, personally, can't wait
