Had a phone call this afternoon from one of the car dealers we had talked to about ordering a car. I was quite happy to inform him that we had a car on order already...... His dealership was willing to order us one, and as far as price goes they were going to sell it at market value when it arrived......and he would guarantee us that it wouldn't be more than $5000 over the MSRP.

I think he also wanted $1000 down to order the car....our current dealer has no down payment.

I don't think he will be calling us again....

What a slim ball, I cant believe there are still dealers out there doing this....

When we were in there they had 1 Camaro in the show room....already sold, and were shipping it to TN. It sat there for about 2 weeks before it left........I think he said they sold it for $10,000 over MSRP. Told us they could sell any of them they got for above MSRP at that time because of the demand and that's what the "market price was." Said that if we waited awhile to order the price would probably come down....maybe that's why he was calling today.

They aren't a big dealer at all....I've seen cars sit on their lot for over 18 months.
