Market range

I don't want to sell, but may need to due to crazy income tax this year. Would it be feasible to expect $39,000 - $40,000 for a 2015 Z with 21,000 miles. Black, but currently sporting an orange wrap on the front/sides/rear. Newish Goodyear 3R with tons of life left. Never tracked. Condition is typical (some flare pits/rock chips and some light hazing where an elderly person backed into it and I don't know if that will pop up on a Carfax or not.) The wrap is a year old and in pretty good shape (a couple rock chips here and there.) The car is paint corrected and ceramic coated underneath.

At the moment your car's value only speaks to those whom desire the distinguished look your currently has. Narrow audience

Top dollar will brought when it's brought back to the common/normal appearance someone shopping for 2014-2015 Z/28's. Remove the wrap, repair the damage. Broad audience.

Beautiful Z28 you have there too bad you are considering selling it. It depends where you are trying to sell it and the demand where you are trying to sell it as well price differs only a professional automotive vehicle appraiser could give you a true value of what your 2015 Camaro Z28 is actually worth. Since your car is in immaculate beautiful condition I highly recommend trying to sell your car in these places since it will probably do well good luck. www.ebaymotors.com www.autotrader.com www.cars.com

Hey you never know that narrow shopper may just be in the market right now and when they see your "unique" car, it might be the one.

So put it out there and see what happens - if you get your price, let it go, if not - you can always add photos of a black car and offer that look to cross shoppers and offer to remove the wrap as part of the transaction!

To answer your question directly there are a lot of cars available - I would focus on the typical sources; auto trader, cars.com, car guru's etc. and what is on here - then focus on those close to your mileage and your area and go from there. Never hurts to throw it on Craig's list in your local area as well. Your $39k - $40k range for your car in black is pretty reasonable - if you have to sell by 4/15/19 for taxes then $37k - $39k is probably where you will have to end up - without the wrap. In Orange that is buyer specific - so your range for your car is fine if you can find that buyer.

Good luck with the right solution.

I agree with everyone above. I personally love the orange, but if I was buying it I’d be afraid you were hiding something. For reference there is a black one near me in Milwaukee for sale. 11k miles , asking 44k

I know it's a bummer, JR, but currently the Z/28 is not a car I would want to sell "in a hurry". Takes that special buyer and with a distinct desire. I would suspect that 20-30 years from now selling these wonderful machines will take all of about a weekend... (whatever the market value is high or low) but for now... it's a pretty darn small market.

Best of luck to both of you guys in selling. I always have my fingers crossed as a self-proprietor that I don't have to sell my in a hurry.

I purchased CTF #66 AGM with 500 miles, never tracked, previous GM traveling show car, this car was immaculate, thought oh yea, I'll flip this quickly and make a few bucks.
WRONG ! 1 year later and nearly $10,000 dollars of depreciation later, I sold it.

Yes it is sad but true as the vehicles I have seen that hold their resale the best (a specially for the first five years) are Japanese,European, classic, vintage, collector sport cars, special edition collector cars etc. With our Camaro’s unfortunately it really is what the demand is in your area. I have seen American Sports Cars like the Corvette and Camaro special edition Indy Pace Cars sell very well for example. Overall the Chevrolet Corvette not only has great resale value for the first five years for an American Sports Car but is one of the top selling sports cars in the world.

This exactly. I wouldn't consider purchasing any car that is wrapped.
