Our cars have an intank ( feed pump ) that gets the fuel to the camshaft driven High pressure fuel pump. The High pressure pump is where our fuel systems have issues with big nitrous or high HP. I run a dedicated fuel cell and pump just for my nitrous, I do it because I'm running E85 setup and the fuel system can not handle both.

Is the ZL1 pump a direct replacement? Or are mods required?

direct replacement..easier to cut a hole in the rear seat floorboard than drop the tank

I legit replacement the fuel pump with snips. Used a Hammer and flathead to release the fuel pump ring. AND BOOM! 50X easier than dropping that rear.
