light em if you got em......wait......oh ok.....LOL!!!

I am not bullshitting you.

This is the guy in charge of global development.
He's the one that set up the internal competion to be separate and gave them his 69 to get the "Flavor"
And he got to chose the winner. He's the man.

I hate to say it but those guys are saying I'm wrong about the corvette being the only super coming out...and they are right...the ctsv will be super'd...

But I'm right about the Camaro...I'm sorry.

Do you think it's possible he meant no Z28 and no Supercharged Camaro at the Start Of Regular Production?

Or are you saying there won't be one this year. Or did he say there won't be one for the next 18 months. Or maybe he meant there won't be one tomorrow. How about he just meant they havn't confirmed the Z28/supercharged camaro yet. Or are you saying that there will not ever be a 5th gen z28 and / or a supercharged camaro.

I just want to be clear......

Quote: "We have no plans for a supercharged Camaro, there are a few I've seen, but we won't be putting one into prodution"

He went on to talk about stricter cafe-emissions and then the "Volt" and how a hybrid vehicle may be the muscle car of the near future.

I was dismayed

Well,

All I can say is I failed miserably at finding any confirmation of your recollection of your conversation with Mr. Welburn.

So, Either you are sitting on the biggest Camaro news since the unveiling, and you should probably call LLN or C&D etc. to get your 15 mins of fame, or you misunderstood him.

Either way. Experience with these kinds of claims leads me to one thought. I'll wait for something official before I believe you. If you are right, I apologize in advance for calling

There was only 10 of us at the breakfast...including my wife.....and it was mostly corvette freaks so no-one else pumped him on the camaro but me.

You know.....I hope Ed lied to me for some internal corporate reason.......for you.
Me.....I'll be keeping my GTO....

Honest man...no BS

No apology needed...I'm just sharing.

'hvit - I gotta' also agree with what you suggested about selling that info' to LLN or Autoblog for some $$$. The more I think about it, the more suspicious it sounds. Like we've been told time-and-time again: GM doesn't discuss future projects, so who is this person who would be so important as to rub noses with like the Big Cheese of the Camaro?

Eh; I'm not worried.

Everything you've posted does nothing but loosely confirm that you were there.

Again, many GM folks have said there is no Z28 planned at the start of production. And there has been NO information released regarding what engine may or may not be in it. So we have been using this thread to speculate on what it may be should GM determine the Z28 is going to be produced.

So, in reality I'm not disputing what you're claiming here. I'm just questioning the finality of it. You quote Mr.Welburn as saying "no supercharged motor for the camaro" and "no Z28 period"

I am still of the position that you misunderstood him. I'm basing that on the fact that more than a few GM officials have said no Z28 at the start of regular production. None of them have ever said "no Z28 ever" or "no supercharged camaro ever"

You don't work for GM. You don't represent GM. You were given the opportunity to ask Mr. Welburn one off the cuff question and he gave you an off the cuff answer.

When someone from GM confirms what you claim to be fact then I'll believe you. Unless of course you can get your story published. Because, I don't think you truly understand the fallout of what you are saying. The 5th gen community has closely followed the prospect of a Z28. To include most of the relevant automobile press. If you do even a little research, I think you'd quickly see how valuable the story you have could be for you.

This thread may help you understand the impact if what you claim and how you quote Mr. Welburn is true and accurate.

Without confirmation or a published story, I choose to relish in the prospect of what the Z28 or a supercharged camaro might be.
