If it actually does make a difference with a cam I wouldnt mind, it's one of the things I want to do to the car along with ported heads, but I want to go down to dallas to have ADM do it.

FAST is working on some updates.
This manifold was fully designed and in production before the Camaro was released. Some of these issues are already covered in the Instruction Sheet. There will be a Q&A/FAQ release very shortly.

Updates are welcome, but that wont help all of us who already bought and have the intake installed unless they do exchanges.

sure does look good when you get the heater hoses re-routed and the vacuum lines ran under it:

Well, from the Gen3 Hemi stuff, the 5.7 has this crappy looking plastic intake and the 6.1 has a really nice looking cast aluminum intake with larger/shorter runners and works well on the 6.1s
The 6.1 intakes suck on the 5.7's the ports size kills the intake charge velocities, you loose low end and don't make enough up on the top end to make up for the low end loss. It seems the Hemis really like port speeds ( our Street Strip heads are seeing 340cfm @ 28inchs at .500 as I recall on my heads ). We have stock 80mm TB's and we don't see a gain on the 90's unless you are running a HUGE cam or spinning the motor to the upper end. We don't really see gains on TBs until we are in the 392 to 440ci motors. One thing you all have us beat on is being able to spin the motors higher, we are stuck at 6800 even one our built motors. we still have Valve spring issues and computer issues going beyond that in the Auto cars. I just cant see getting all that much from a "fairly" stock motor with a 102mm TB bs say an 85 or 90. -Robert |

WOW, Jim that looks fantastic!
FAST is working on a LSXR FAQ. They should have it at SEMA. I'll post a copy when I get it. I don't believe that any of the LSXR manifolds are considered a "Stock replacement". They are to support more flow with cams, heads and increased displacement. Remember, FAST is part of the COMP PERF GROUP which includes Comp Cams and RHS. Their products support each other. Here are couple of items I did get clarified. PULLEY WASHER/ALIGNMENT Quote:

intakes like the FAST LSXR one are not made for stock motors. they are designed for motors that have been cammed, sprayed, blown, etc.
It is designed so that the individual runners can be modified for a specific length for a specific motor application. now if someone who has one already went and trimmed the runners here and there and did repeated dyno runs to see any difference on a stock motor, that might be worthwhile, but the intake as is on a stock vehicle is not worth it unless you plan some serious mods in the near future.

I think you are right, around 360rwhp and around 380rwtq (dynojet SAE corrected) is where the stock internals just aren`t going to allow any more power on the L99. I just put down 362rwhp and 381rwtq (dynojet SAE cor.) w/ ARH 1 7/8`s cats, stock mufflers, your race intake and a tune. The Camshaft is the restriction past that. My tuner basicly told me that as well and I had not even asked him, he said it just won`t make any more power past that point from what he`s seen so far.
