Hey Rockin,
What exactly do you mean here? Direct injected as in Fuel Injection??
If so, that’s why you’re feeling all that speed and acceleration.

Your previous rides were all carbureted, from what I gather.
There is a huge difference in throttle response between say a Holley 750 to a high pressure , computer controlled “fly by wire” modern car.

My El Camino, 355ci with a Holley 750 running a mechanical fuel pump requires me to downshift prior to smashing the “spring assisted throttle cable” mechanically attached to a foot pedal.

Or it’ll bog down. Anyway, that’s my hypothesis.

Direct injection is a form of electronic fuel injection that uses very high fuel pressure injected DIRECTLY into the combustion chamber rather than being mixed with air in the intake.

I left the confines of my foothill home today and went down to the valley of Sacramento. My SS ran so well down there it altered the position of my spleen at full throttle and I had go to the ER and have a ‘spleen tune’ to reset its position. I only post this because that hadn’t ever happened in my LT 45th. Kinda weird.

That’s ‘cause of driver error. You have to “stomp”’the go fast pedal in a LT.
“Full throttle” is only applicable to the SS.

Don't forget the post about Vegas having the slowest car.out there. Somebody driving a 14?+ second car shouldn't say others are slow.

Yep and pretty much the majority in this thread are yours old chum. Your little 6 ain't "keeping up" with a SS unless it's misfiring on several cylinders.........end of story. Take it to a track, post your slips and let's see how well you can "keep up" with a stock and lightly modded SS. As I sit, I'd put a buss or 2 on you easily. My old car woulda really had fun with you.

I'd give him the hit and a second and still gap him in the 1/8. I'd put my title on that. But he'd have to come to me as I ain't trailering a V6 back from the east coast.
