Cam upgrade feed back.
I have a 2010 SS manual with 60k miles. All the basic bolt ons.. longtube, intake, exhaust and tune. Looking for a camshaft upgrade now. I'm looking for some feedback on which cam brand and stage to get the most hp gains.

We carry and deal with Texas Speed and Brian Tooley cams. If you need help selecting one give us a call and we can go over the options. Being a manual car we can go pretty aggressive while maintaining good street manners.

![]() The 9.5 is a great cam. If you go this route, I'd upgrade to the coyote heads and put 4 of them in there. I heard it is a simple swap on the LS3. OP - If you're serious, take a look at the cam packages offered by the big guys like TSP, BTR, and GPI. Also, understand what your goals are with the car and how you plan to use it. If it is a DD and you're looking for the highest HP only, you may be sacrificing some low end driveability. For most of us, a Stage 1 or 2 cam is plenty as our cars rarely see track time. The difference in HP with the bigger cams usually only becomes apparent when you do the other supporting mods (trunion upgrade, intake manifold, 102mm TB, etc) to allow you to raise the redline to the mid 7k range.

A lot of them use cam motion 8620 cores spec'd to their relentless hours of trial and error development and will be able to get you the best package for what YOU want the car to do. Thats the advice i got many years ago in the gen ii sbc days. Never failed then, doesnt fail now

I agree with Roader... I didnt see you were manual!!! (thanks for pointing that out) No need to go stage 1 unless you were auto staying with stock converter. Stage 2 or 3 are definitely streetable with a solid tune.

This is a very hard question to answer. You need to address your goals driving style, is it going to be a dd, weekend warrior, race car etc etc, future mods... Your best bet is for YOU to do some research and find what best suits YOU. We all have our favorites and can give you all these cool names but in the end only YOU know what you want/expect. I have a stage 4 TSP cam. It works great for how I use the car and how I like to drive. Bigger isn't always better. Look at some dyno sheets and study the power under the curve. If you're cruising around town with a big @$$ cam, don't expect to have any power down low.
