I miss the open air feeling of 4th Gen T-Tops. If only 6th Gens had the Corvette removable roof (targa top) option.

That said-I'm also considering the Corvette Z06 or Grand Sport because of the smooth ride and removable roof option and good (street usable) power.

Long Answer: Not in a million years. I like some aspects of the ZLE, like the wing, but overall I'll take my Z/28 over one any day. I love the way I feel connected with the road through every contact point (seat, wheel, pedals, shifter), I love the feedback I receive and I love how pushing it the way I have has only just barely scratched the surface of what this thing can do. And, with the upgrades 21st Century Muscle Car are doing (and fixes... rockers and head problems), 650bhp will be monumentally more satisfying. Even more so when I get it to 675-700.

The ZLE is a marvel of engineering and always impresses me, but I am a NA or turbo guy only. I am not a fan of superchargers, heatsoak, and everything else you can run into.

Lastly, if you never plan to track the car you are doing yourself a disservice and, more importantly, you are impeding your skills as a driver. THIS is the car that can teach you to be a better driver on and off the track. Don't waste that opportunity.
I have never felt more connected to the road then I feel in the ZLE. I only have a few hours with a Z28 and about 800 miles now with the ZLE but I’ll have to say if your looking for a connection with the road drive one for a few hours and repost. Don’t take that wrong your car is amazing and love the way they look. I just sold a gen5 a few weeks ago that I loved but it’s not a ZLE. Also miss the back seat leg room but I still made the right choice.

Sounds to me like you should consider other cars besides Camaros based on what you desire ... no love for standard ... check ... rides way to rough for your liking ... check ... you want a lot more power ... check. Maybe a new Corvette is more suitable for you as the next step up. Plenty of other options as you increase your budget. Good luck!

I understand your thoughts, but I've put 12k miles on my Z/28 since I bought it and I'm pretty sure of my feelings on it. Considering this is the platform they designed the ZLE around, it makes sense why they would feel similar/the same.

Back seats for me are a non-entity since I've got a harness bar, so that wouldn't be a worry either. Besides, anybody sitting in the back of the car who isn't a kid would find the ride unbearable.

Either way, I'll hard pass. I paid 36k for mine. No way I can stomach 75k+ for a new one right now haha. Glad you found YOUR car though. That feeling of "right" is hard to come by.

damn you've put 12k miles on it since eyou got it? I've put about 7k on mine since I bought it at 5k miles. I got 21st Century MC to put on headers and a tune so far. lately I've been having full on anxiety about driving it and putting anymore miles on it after seeing how little of these Gen 5 Z/28's exist. like foreal man, I literally just stare at it parked out back and start feeling uneasy when I get the urge to drive it lol How many miles are currently on yours???

55k miles on the clock as of 2 weeks ago! 12k miles since October 2017.

I don't care about monetary value. I care about taking care of it for ME, and enjoying it for MYSELF. I will never sell it, even if it gets taken out by someone else... it'll be bought back instantly and good parts used on another one. I understand why people feel that way about collector cars, but I don't understand the collector mentality. I also don't care about keeping something pure OEM.

I'll be picking it up from 21st today after getting their H/C package. Intake and throttle body will come later when I can afford it lol.

That makes me feel a lot better man, I've seriously been stressing over that for a while now, I'm in the same boat as you, I will never get rid of it and I plan on keeping it forever and maybe even giving it to my kid for high school once he's able to drive. I actually got mine back last tuesday (28th of may) from 21st, I may or may not have seen your Z/28 parked out front. Mines black (2015) and there was another black one on some black aftermarket wheels parked out front. I plan on doing their cam package soon when I have the money. One of the biggest reasons why I decided to get the Gen 5 Z/28 over a 2017 GT350 I was considering is because of how little of them exist and also LS7....It feels great driving something that's more rare then say a Lamborghini Huracan.

I considered the same thing not long ago. I found a killer deal on a 2018 ZL1 1LE with under 9k miles, and seriously considered it. But all in all, I couldn't justify upgrading to the newer wannabe Z28 when I could add the same power for probably 10k less than I'd end up paying for the car (15k after interest probably), so I stuck with the Z/28.
I agree with what others said; the tour setting will only impact steering, traction control aggressiveness, etc (btw, the Z28 has a tour button too), but it will do nothing for the DSSV suspension they put on there.
I had a 6th gen SS, and while I did love the car, I had 3 things I absolutely hated: the back seat should not exist (I do put small children back there and even they didnt fit really); there was no storage, at all; and the damn start button with no key backup...the 6th gens are notorious for heat soaked starters. My car would frequently *barely* turn over, even after short drives. Although it never actually failed, I always felt like it was just a matter of time before I was sitting there waiting for cool down.
I like the ZL1s, and I did consider a trade on both...but in the end, I like the look for the Z28 better, and you never see a Z28 (to my knowledge, there is only 1 other in Tampa)....and I really don't miss the amenities other than streaming music through bluetooth (which the receivers through the aux port work fine to workaround that little problem). Everything the car is missing, I can do with my phone in the car, so no biggie

As for the ZL1 1LE; the freakin spoiler looks ridiculous. If I wouldve gotten the other one, the spoiler would've been changed asap.

My Z-28

Nope. I would keep the Z-28. 10 years from now all the electronics will still be running. As in ZL1, I would give it 5 years before all the electronics stops running.

You are 100% correct. The public is really dumb to think the Navigation screen will be forever problem-free. Eventually the screen breaks down then all your settings are gone. Then you're f*cked.

To believe the Navigation screen/monitor will work without issues for even 10 years is wishful thinking.

The Z/28 has no Navigation and minimal electronics.

It's amazing how dumb the public really is.

Not just the navigation screen. On a ZL1 the center tachometer on your dash info board is a electronic screen. Have that and a the navigation screen go out, see how much that's going to cost you after the warranty is up.

Hell, my sister paid $3000 to get her Lexus screen replaced, updated, and reprogrammed and her warranty was up after 3 years. Fudge that, I'm old school, give me analog any day.
