Anyways, I was wondering if I was only able to do one performance mod for under $1000, what mod would everyone suggest me to get?

So just keep stock exhaust, cats, and just get like a Magnaflow resonated x muffler?

When I was 18 I drove my MOM’s ‘70 Mercury Montego. I think they gave that model the much deserved firing squad a few years later. OP, drive that sumbitch as is, and enjoy the envious, jaw dropping looks you’ll get. And know that you’ll be around to see things many of us will never see or drive.

And be careful. That ‘lowly’ V6 will kill you just as dead as any hot rod V8 if you don’t respect it!

Awesome ride and welcome..

As far as exhaust axle back sound good on those. Headers is not an option with the direct injection unless you change the heads. Biggest thing is make it your own..

Welcome!

Honestly, I tell anyone and everyone to always start at the intake. It’s relatively cheap, and it actually benefits the car in more ways than 1. Have you ever tried breathing through a straw? Same principle.

Do sway bars (get rid of that FE2 crap), GM strut tower brace, catch can and a clean-side separator. You will have money left over, but those are the top mods I'd do right now.

Nice car, i would swap out that spoiler for an SS or Z28 style one, then i would go with an exhaust like many other people suggested. The rest of the car looks great already. After that, cold air kit and some headers.

You can't do headers on an LFX.

Personally I’d save the $1000 for the inevitable maintenance and repairs. Remember GTO - Gas, Tires and Oil! But like some people recommended above, maybe a muffler and upgraded (1LE) suspension. Fun stuff like LED lights and other appearance items are fairly cheap.

I know this is an enthusiast forum and a lot of people like to improve engine performance but honestly these cars have more performance ability stock than the driving ability of many drivers.

I would go exhaust, wheels, splitter, grille, etc. You already have a rear spoiler. Make her your own. Other mods could be RS headlights, interior lighting, and the like. She looks good now so any additions will only make her look even better
