Seriously though 760hp is awesome and I'm hopeful this pushes GM to offer a DCT in the ZL1. Also interested in the weight of the GT500 and if this car will command the dealer markups the GT350 experienced.

Dodge Red Eye might have competition if the GT500 is light enough!

Twisters, we know Dodge lacks there.

The GT500's are going to be a force to be reconnected with. They may not be 797hp like a Challenger, but they aren't going to weigh nearly as much either. I bet the GT500 would beat the Challenger Redeye in a straight line too. Dual clutch transmission, less weight, it should dominate.

As far as Chevy's answer, I would imagine it is going to be delayed until a Camaro7 comes out and even then it probably won't beat 760hp. They won't make a Camaro out power a Corvette. Until Corvette gets to it's "ridiculous" power level that has been hinted at in the C8 the Camaro will be second or third in horsepower and might be off of king of the hill for a track for now. 110hp deficit is hard to make up even with the wild aero package on the ZL1 1LE.

I just wish the big 3 would stop playing around and ditch the blowers for turbo's.

It would make more hp/tq per psi boost and probably get a lot better mpg's to boot!

lol, right... though impressed they've managed to get up there in a production Mustang. I guess the new norm is 700hp plus... gotta agree, healthy competition good for the consumer. 7th Gen can't be a joke, GM. It's got to be that Ultimate Beast ya'll have been holding back because of the vette.

As for SC vs Turbo's... some of the old school folk would disagree with the above comment. Nothing like that kick up your ass when you floor it rather than having to wait for it to spool up, some would say...

Yes its still a Ford, big numbers for HP and I bet you can spin it too the moon, problem is......its Torque that moves you and it comes in less than the hellcat and the zl1 when you read the torque. Hp numbers sell cars though and this is going to have a hellish sticker price and looks nice.

Also you will have to spin it too the moon, and its going to be light like the zl1, and we know Chevy wants to warranty everything and won't go big blowers....were as others say a mustang GT has the void warranty button....yup line lock them up and...……..walla your with out a warranty. Imagine it will have even more improved this and that and be $$$$$$$$$$$$ because, Chevy could take a little lesson......Looks like for though stole the blacked out front bumper look...LOL AND a light weight will make it a contender for fun, my money would rather be on a used hellcat for 1/2 or less the price , or better....damn ZL1s stay too high priced for now used.

It feels like it's way more nimble and a lot more fun to drive than my SS.
But.....I have the slushbox.
Not arguing. It's just what I felt with the one I drove. It had an exhaust on it, I don't think any other bolt ons. I don't know what tires it had but it spun, a lot. It was fun, but not what I wanted. Of course you can add things to make make them hook up and handle better, this was a stock vs stock (mostly) comparison for me when I was shopping. The camaro Didn't spin in first or second at WOT stock. Camaro just feels more planted and lower slung, though more cramped. I'm 6'3 but I can still fit, just have to lay down =)

Wow that’s the best gift ever! Tell him to buy it while he’s young and not married. If he gets it tell him to leave it stock and get it paid off ASAP...once their is a wife in the picture and a baby on the way it’s hard to justify that kind of car payment. But if it’s paid off by then...well its paid for😁
