Haha, this one made me laugh.
Best practice when you put white letters on is to remove all wheels every time you park and reinstall them with all letters in the same position. To keep the letters lined up longer, only drive straight... do not turn the steering wheel or you'll have to remove the wheels again.

Lol....the letters line up occasionally as the wheels are staggered. Quite often when getting out of the car the letters are lined up perfectly. I assume when you say line up all the time you have to be running same size all around.

either on my SS. Kind of reminds me of the fake white walls (Port-A-Walls) of the 50's.

Well like you Moto I'm a child of the 70's so the raised letters do mean something to me as well. To each is own I guess. I will say I get nothing but compliments around here except for those chiming in on their negative opinions in these forums. Funny, being old school my momma said if you got nothing good to say, then keep it to yourself. Sooo..with that in mind I've never ranked on someones car in the forums. Just because I'm not into say..... a red camaro with black rims doesn't mean I go blasting every red camaro with black rims. Seems silly to me. I do appreciate those that helped with my original question and left it at that.
Also, I think that there is a misunderstanding. The letters are not really stickers. They are raised rubber letters that you do permanently glue on. A little expensive though.

Mbesman, your car looks great...I did not intend to poke fun at the tire letters.
Honestly, I assume those tires I've seen were from the factory....lIke NASCAR. I did not know they're raised letters either until your post. My comment about less/more related to cleaning...which IMO, and as I age, "time is of the essence". I'd rather drive. Happy 4th! |

mbesman, here’s my dilema...I have 4 toy cars to maintain.
Take my ‘80 Elky and her American Racing aluminum old skool eight hole wheels. I’m been polishing the for years...I’ve spent multiple Mothers Power Balls...I’m done. They are a b!tch to keep polished. I gotta get her cleaned upped for the 4th, so I just polished the center caps. I’m sourcing modern 17” Crager SS style wheels in chrome but I’m running Wilwood calipers and rotors so it’s not easy to find the right fit. I doing this to shave some down cleaning time...chrome polishes much quicker than aluminum. Edit for pic. |

LOL, so much passion and fire over tire stickers? I like to see the creativity and different tastes that people have. I personally think they look good on his car. Not sure why we are bashing him here.
