Footbraking and auto and launch rpm
For the guys that footbrake on the strip with an auto, what rpm do you take it up to before launching? I always just launch from idle but want to change it up for better 60'/E.T (at least I hope?)

Redmuddman, from what I've read, it seems 1000-1200rpms is where to launch at. Not sure though, that's why I posted it. You know another thing is, how hard to push on the brake when footbraking?

Before I had a torque converter, nitrous, and 3.91, I used the footbrake method. It works good if your on the stock converter and gear with no boost.
About 1400 rpm is the max I could footbrake, before the car began overriding the brakes. When using your left foot for the brakes, keep the inside of your foot on the left of the brake pedal, "pigeon toed" with your ankle left of your toes, that way you can just slide it left and release the brake quickly. Release the brake and floor the gas at the same time as soon as the third amber light comes on (sportsman tree). With just normal bolt on's, cold air, headers, UDP, tune, and Nitto 555R's, in good air, and good prep, you should be able to cut mid to high 1.8 60' times. Being lined up in the direct center of the groove is the most important thing, because if your not, it doesn't matter how well you launch, your just going to spin. Run as much pressure in your rear tires that you can and still hook up with. If you start at 19lb and hook, go up to 21 next pass, if you still hook go to 23...once you don't hook, go back down to where you did. Run as little gas as possible to reduce weight, when I had no boost, I ran 1/4 tank to get best times. Less weight = faster car. Run 2lb below max pressure in your front tires to reduce rolling resistance.

1200 rpm is about where i launch. our track is always prepped good so not much spinning. it more bogs and then goes. i'm consistent 2.2 even when i put on 26'' mickey thompson tires which really surprised me. at this point i feel like i need a stall to get out quicker. not sure what i can do to prevent bog-n-go without one

Hope this helps you.....during the summer though when it's so hot and humid, the DA is really bad, and you won't get as good of times as you will in cooler/dry air. So don't expect 1.8's now even if you do everything right.
I don't even go in the summer anymore unless I've made a change, to see how it affects reaction time. One other thing that you should do is pull fuse #40 and relay #43. No more 'service stabilitrac" codes when doing a burnout, and all the nannies are off when these are pulled. You don't have to hold the button to turn the nannies off. You will see the ABS and BRAKE lights on the dash, but the brakes work fine, lights will go off when you put them back in. It only takes a minute to do. Just bring a ziplock sandwich bag, or an empty prescription bottle, put them in it after you pull them when you get to the strip, then stick them in the storage compartment under the armrest, put them back in when you're ready to leave.

Also, do you have all the nannies off and the car in SPORT mode?

1800 rpm launch. I usually get pretty good 60' times if the track is preped well.
