The smog test for a new vehicle is required in 5 years after bought and then every 2years after that. It changed to 5 years for brand new cars like in 2006-2007 because cars had better emissions but it used to be every 2years before since new.

Exactly, so don't sweet it. If you are little uncomfortable just keep your stock one so you can out it on if need be.

What California don't know, won't hurt them!

Nothing is legal in California. You can't even change your muffler so I can't imagine you'd be able to change your intake. Good luck!

Don’t try to apply logic and reason to CA laws. It’ll only make you insane. Which I guess is their goal, so you’ll be one of ‘them.’ Get your CAI and take it off for Smog inspection. Now, getting it shipped to CA will have you getting a little creative. Relative in NV perhaps?

Here's a link regarding the intakes that are CARB compliant in CA:
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=437263

Here's the list that's in the link:
Volant - for V6 only

AEM Inductions & AirAid – True CAI for V6 only, with some strange ‘air filter and tube’ combo for the SS

K&N – True CAIs for the V6 and ZL1 only, same type of filter and tube thing for the SS

Powerteq - Jammer CAI for 6.2L

Hell no ! Lol I had a K&N CAI for a Mustang GT 4.6 and failed the smog test. Went home and installed the oem filter and went back and passed.
