His stater is fine...a starter will not set off the CEL, so don't worry.
There are a lot of decals available to enhance the interior/dash...easy to install.

Can you take a few more pictures of your intake? It doesn't look like your MAF is fitting correctly in the tube from the one picture that I see.

But it could just be the picture.
