What to use to clean the hood vent?

I've tried scrubbing with carwash soap and I can't get these water mark stains out. Anyone have any suggestions to what else I could use?

Try vinegar mixed with some distilled water. It may help break up the mineral deposits.

Try a vinyl & rubber cleaner/treatment. That stuff you use twice a year on your weather seals.

Try moving your post to the Cosmetic Maintenance: Washing, Waxing, Detailing section. Maybe Adams Polishes will chime in and give you some help.

I tried white vinegar and water then clay bar. Didn't really remove the staining. I just ended up using some trim restore. Now it's shiny, until it wears off.

Are you trying to sound dumb or does it come naturally?

Might try some of this. We have extremely hard/calcified water here and our CUV sets outside. Until I got rid of our side lawn, it would get hit by the sprinklers and had some extremely bad water stains. Used this on the paint and trim, removed them all. After doing the trim, I went over it with a trim restorer; spots have not come back.

a little bit of both.
but it sounds looks like hard water the windows in GA had alot of that type of water marks from the minerals.they were hard to remove. we actually used acid at the dealer.i would not recommend that on paint.he may have to remove it scuff it down and repaint it with SEM semigloss trim paint.

Try Meguiar's water spot remover. My truck got hit with hard water a few weeks back from a Irrigation system pretty bad. This stuff worked really well for myself and was quick and easy to use.
