turbo kit hotside coatings

How many turbo guys have their hotsides coated? I didn't get my Huron kit coated but will do it locally with the Cerakote Glacier ceramic coating. Does that did, do you feel that's a must have for a street car to keep the temps down or protect the wires?

For a top mount single kit, its a MUST. Had my single kit done by huron. Was very happy with how it looked. Since have switched to twins underneath which makes the coating an non-issue

I sent all my hot pipes to Jet Hot in Oklahoma and had mine done. I still used Titanium heat wrap on the pipes as well. I haven't got the car running yet, so I can't tell you what the running temperatures are. I could post a pic or two if you like in a day or so. I'm almost ready to fire it up.

Ceramic coating your exhaust keeps the heat in the pipes. This improves exhaust scavenging because the heat thats not absorbed into the metal, keeps exhaust velocities up. It also assists in o2 sensor function if they have been move down stream, farther away from the stock location. 02 sensors require heat to switch properly, coating your exhaust keeps this heat in the pipe. It also keeps under hood temps down, which can help with intake air charge temperatures too. IMO, the benefits out weigh the cost, but no everyone does it.

look @john_doc youtube channel- he sent his kit to Jethot and has had nothing but trouble since. Not saying it had, or didn't, have an effect, but I didn't coat mine due to his problems. Once on there, it makes any subsequent welding more difficult.

Well my kit was still at Huron speed so I ask Jonathan to go ahead and coat them there before shipping out. He said it will take about 7-10 days.

For shorty ARH headers, I paid Jet hot $600.

For a pair of Kook's long tubes, I paid a local place just over $300.

I cannot tell the difference. I asked the local place about their warranty. He said he has only had one issue and he believes it was because the vehicle's tune was off. He said if there is a problem, bring them back.

For those wondering who offers coatings, just search for industrial coatings in your area.

I'd love to see that and take a look at your ABM when you get it up and running.

A couple shots of my install, everything coated and wrapped. I flipped the ECM to put the wiring harness on top for better clearance.
