NPP vs Aftermarket Cat-back

Hey All,

I am new to the 5th gen Camaro, though I have had many 4th gen f-body's and few C5's, so I am not new to the LS platform. I am picking up a 2015 1LE in a few days with the NPP exhaust. I know about the fuse pull mod, but my question is how does the NPP rank for flow vs an aftermarket cat-back? Also, is there any benefit changing any part of this exhaust with the exception of going to Long Tubes?

Thanks for the help.

NPP with long tube headers is one of the best sounding exhaust on the Camaro. I don't think there's any performance gains for changing it. when you put long tube headers on and put an x pipe in place of the h pipe. And I put a remote on the fuse so I can go quiet when I want and loud with a push of a button. Download the video and tell me what you think.https://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5d8034f4...2697833318.mp4

First off, welcome to the forums!!

As for your questions, the 5th gen exhaust flows really well with the exception of the factory cats. Personally if the NPP exhaust was available for my car from the factory originally I would have saved my money from buying a catback and put it towards other mods. Long tube headers and NPP exhaust sound GREAT, IMO.

Awesome, thanks for the input. Your car sounds awesome! Where did you get the remote?

Watch some of the YouTube videos on the diy npp controller. Corvette and Camaro use same components.

Welcome to the board and congrats on the Camaro

It is a great sound with headers. We just finished up a cammed 1Le with headers and the stock NPP and it sounded perfect. It is a 2.5" exhaust however and around 650-700rwhp it will start to cost you some power over a 3" system.

When you're ready to order some of these mods hit us up. We'll get you the parts that work for your goals and budget.

Idk man.... It's hard to beat long tube headers and a Corsa exhaust. I'm not doubting long tubes with the NPP sounds good, I'm sure it does, but I don't think it sounds as good as Corsa with long tubes. Everyone has their own opinions about it though.

Won't pick up any horsepower changing the cat-back. The Z28 uses the same mufflers just has 2.75" pipes.

Hi-flo cats/no cats will give you some additional power

Headers, Hi-flo cats or no cats and tune will give you the most additional power.

CAI, Bo White PTB, headers, hi-flo cats and a tune really wake the 1le up.

NPP is the best all around sounding exhaust and you can control how loud it is. But each exhaust manufacture has their own unique sound though, pick what you like.

I agree. You will not pickup anymore power going with an aftermarket exhaust vs the NPP. After the header installation and the use of cats or not, it's really just a preference in how it sounds. Many people prefer to spend that money elsewhere which is also, a good choice. $1500 could go a long way toward other mods.
