Help! SLP headers =$1400? xpipe=$700?axelback=$600?

Help! SLP headers =$1400? xpipe=$700?axelback=$600???
It might just be me, but isn't that a lot of money for the exhaust system? I was thinking of spending a total of maybe 1400.00. If I had to choose, what pieces of the system should I get? I don't want to pay that much. Should an exhaust system w/headers cost $2,700.00?? Is this normal? Please help me

304 stainless is expensive. As is niche production. I'm sure there will be mild steel and ceramic coated steel coming out. You just have to figure out the best value for you.

What if I were to not get the headers, but get the rest. Would that make sense? This is kind of a surprise to me, because I got my old truck's exhaust done+installed(no headers) for around 600 dollars. So is about 2,000.00 the price range that I'm looking at to get the whole exhaust system of any kind for this car?

yes and 2000 is low considering some headers cost tht alone...but u get what u pay for. American racing headers make 32 hp with no tune 50 with a tune...slp make 28 and kooks im nt sure but arh cost the most and make the most hp. But most ppl know american racing headers are by far a better product.

Im just trying to get something nice thats better than stock. Im not too worried about getting 'the best'. But I figure I would be better off getting something cheaper, instead of dreaming about the best and still having stock.

buy Doug Thorley headers on Autoanything.com for $550 and run straight pipes back from cats (muffler delete) would be cheap and effective. plus you lose 50lbs from stock muffler delete.

I spent $3,000 for Long tube headers, and a Corsa Cat back.
It's ridiculous but what are you going to do? I have the sound I wanted, and I am happy with it..

They do make a quality product....and yes for the next year you will end up paying a "camaro" tax.

SLP does have strict pricing rules so there is some room to work on their prices, but not always a lot.

I have SLP Powerflo on my car, and I love it...I have installed four systems on customers cars and they are all VERY happy with the fit and finish, as well as the sound.
