My thing would be the timing chains, if it is a used engine I would definitely change them while the engine is out

Sounds like you looking at used engines, if this is the case, there can be various reasons why the CTS one is being sold cheaper then the one out of the Camaro starting with why each was removed and what had to be done to each to get them ready for resale.

The Cadillac engines don't make as much stock horsepower as the Camaro V6s. Essentially they are the same engine, however there will be differences (possibly size of injectors, etc.). As long as it's a LLT V6 and not a LFX it should be plug and play.

can the improved timing chains from the LFX or later LLT engines be installed while the engine is out?seems like cheap insurance,especially not knowing the history of the used motor.
