OPINIONS/ADVICE NEEDED- RCR dragmaster cam for my 2010 LS3
Specs: 223/231 .625 I/E 111 lsa.
I am looking to cam my 2010 LS3, I will be upgrading my timing chain and oil pump, lifters, as well as the obvious -ex. valve springs -(I am at HIGH mileage). My installer has this cam he pulled out of his g8, and says it will work great, but "may be slightly too aggressive" for what I want. I have been doing some research and this cam is well known in the g8 community but what about running this in my camaro? Would it have proper clearance? What could I expect (lope, gain, idle, overall drivability?) Thanks in advance |

Never heard of RCR but the cam specs are not very wild at all. In fact that is a smaller cam then the TSP and GPI stage 1 cams. It'll get some lope and drive fine. Power increase will be decent/modest. If you are a manual car (I'm assuming you are) you could get away with something more significant without effecting drivability.

OP. Rick Crawford is considered a god in the G8 world. He spec’d my cam for my G8 back in the day. Like Juiced said, it’s on the smaller side. Just do your springs, trunion, and all the other goodies to be well rounded in your build. I would say 460-470rwhp depending on dyno, I have the tick polluter stage 3 cam (233/248 | .627”/.612” | LSA113+5 ) and she drives smooth as butter.. It’s all in the tune.

It's a small cam: you won't have any problem with drivability.

My Vengeance Vsrp II was 227/235 and it had fantastic manners.

A good part of the driveability and street manners will come down to the competence of your tuner.
